Job Advertisement: Lifeguard and Café Staff

Navet is Umeå's largest swimming hall and experience pool located in the city center.

We opened our doors in 2016, and in our modern facilities, we offer swimming, exercise, relaxation, and experiences for everyone. We have around 50 employees, and during the summer, staff is also allocated to Umelagun, which is a heated outdoor pool adjacent to Nydalabadet's beach at the northern end of Nydalasjön.

Aquarena is located in Storsjöhallen, situated in Holmsund. The pool is known as a pleasant and personal family pool. Gym and group training are conducted to a large extent, with a wide range of wellness offerings.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of lifeguard, you will primarily work with our most important mission; to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for our visitors. Your responsibilities include monitoring the pool, maintaining cleanliness in our facility, and working at the reception. At the reception, you are the face of our visitors, answering the phone, selling subscriptions, entrance fees, and items from our shop.

In our restaurant RE:AL, you will prepare and serve food and snacks from our menu. Cash handling and cleaning are also included, and you play an important role in ensuring correct food safety routines.

With us, the customer is always in focus, and all our staff act as a link between the customer and the rest of the facility. This means we are always available for the customer and have a flexible approach. You will either work variably as a lifeguard/café staff or mainly in one of the departments.

You will either work at Navet/Umelagun or in Holmsund at Aquarena.

About You

For the position of lifeguard, we are looking for someone who is a competent swimmer, has work experience in the service industry, and cash handling experience. We view it positively if you have experience working with children, as a swimming instructor and/or in a swimming facility. It is also a plus if you have worked with our booking system BRP. We will train you in everything you need to know on-site, but if you have training in CPR/AED, lifesaving, or pool lifeguarding, it is an advantage.

As swimming competence is a requirement for lifeguards with us, you will undergo a practical test during the recruitment process, which consists of falling into deep water, swimming 200 meters, of which 50 meters on your back, and diving to a depth of 4 meters.

For the position of café staff, we are looking for someone with work experience in the service industry and cash handling experience. Here, we see it as advantageous if you have previous experience from the fast-food industry and experience with our cash register system BRP.

To thrive with us, we believe you are stress-resistant and adaptable and can remain calm in situations where unexpected things arise, as the pace with us is often high. You are comfortable working independently as well as in a team and have good collaboration skills. You are also service-oriented and always strive to create the best possible experience for our customers. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

As communication internally and largely externally is conducted in Swedish, good knowledge of the language is a requirement.

Before employment, we will request a valid extract from the police criminal record, as the work involves working with children.

Approximately 15 positions with varying degrees of employment based on needs, starting from 2026-06-08 until 2026-08-16 or by agreement. Scheduled working hours during the day, evening, and weekend. Please indicate in your application if you wish to work at Navet/Umelagun or Aquarena.

If needed, there may be a possibility for an intermittent employment (on-call hours) during the spring of 2026. During the selection questions, you will have the opportunity to indicate if this is of interest.
