Parking Attendant in Skellefteå
Do you want a free and active job where you make a difference in the entire municipality? As a parking attendant, you contribute to traffic safety and accessibility in both urban areas and smaller communities. A varied job where you meet people, solve practical problems, and help make everyday life work – no matter where you are.
YOUR ROLE
As a parking attendant, you primarily work with monitoring on foot or by vehicle. You ensure that applicable parking regulations are followed and contribute to a safe and accessible traffic environment.
The job involves daily contact with residents and visitors, sometimes in situations where you need to be clear and professional. You document any violations and report them in digital systems. The assignment also includes collaboration with colleagues, police, and other municipal functions regarding traffic and accessibility issues.
The work is scheduled and includes weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
To succeed in the role of parking attendant, you need to combine a service mindset with good judgment and attention to detail. You have a high school education or other training deemed equivalent.
Since you move a lot on foot, you need to have good physical ability and enjoy an active outdoor job year-round. The work also requires that you can absorb written information and new routines, for example, in connection with the training you receive before you start working independently.
You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and feel comfortable with digital tools.
A B driver's license is an advantage.
We prefer that you have experience from working in public environments where you have daily interacted with people in various situations and had personal responsibility in the interaction. Experience from roles where you needed to apply rules or make decisions based on given frameworks is a plus.
If you also have experience with technical tasks, it is positive, as the role, in addition to parking supervision, also includes tasks such as setting up road signs, troubleshooting and repairing parking machines, and installing other technical equipment.
As a person, you are secure and stable, with good judgment and high integrity. You make decisions on the spot and stand by them in a professional manner. Your approach is clear and respectful, even when you encounter feedback or reactions. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues but also thrive in an independent role where you plan your day and take responsibility for the results.
YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
You will be part of the community planning department, where we together create a functioning, safe, and pleasant Skellefteå. Here we work closely with residents – in a city that is growing and developing rapidly.
As a parking attendant, you will have an independent job with clear responsibilities, but also support from colleagues and managers who value both collaboration and safety in the work.
GOOD TO KNOW
We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Psychological tests may be part of the selection process to ensure a fair and objective assessment. Instead of a personal letter, you will answer some selection questions and attach an updated CV.
