About the position

In the role of a nurse in our ICU, you will work variably with our different patient groups within intensive care, cardiac intensive care, intermediate care, and postoperative care. We also perform elective examinations that require monitoring. Teamwork is central, and you will collaborate closely with several professions to create safety and quality for both patients and relatives around the clock. It is a job that requires high competence, presence, and courage - something that also provides meaning, pride, and an opportunity to make a real difference.

Your responsibilities include:

• Responsibility for the care of patients who have failure in their vital functions due to severe illnesses or surgeries.
• Responsibility for assessment, monitoring, and follow-up of patients' care needs and vital parameters.
• Handling of medical technology and medical technical products safely.
• Medication management and implementation of decided treatment.
• Support, inform, and involve relatives in patient care with an empathetic approach.

About you

For this role, you need to:

• Be a licensed nurse.
• Have a few years of experience as a nurse in emergency care.
• Have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

It is also meritorious if you have:

• Specialist education in intensive care.

In the intensive care unit at Norrtälje Hospital, we provide intensive, cardiac intensive, intermediate, and postoperative care. There are nine care places, of which three are considered full-fledged intensive care places. About 60 employees with broad and high competence work here, and many have long experience in intensive care. We are a stable workgroup with low staff turnover.
