With us, you can do both! We are now looking for nurses for summer vacancies at our forensic psychiatric examination unit in Stockholm, located at Helix near Huddinge Hospital.

The National Board of Forensic Medicine has received two new assignments – to perform risk assessments on behalf of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding conditional release and to conduct special risk investigations regarding security sentences on behalf of the court. The operations are in a phase of change and new employees are being recruited.
Your assignment
The suspects are housed at the unit during the investigation period. You are responsible, under the group manager, for the work at a stay department and lead the nursing staff. You work for care, security, and logistics.
The Department of Forensic Psychiatry investigates, at the request of the court, whether a person suspected of a crime committed it under the influence of a serious mental disorder. The Department of Forensic Psychiatry consists of two forensic psychiatric examination units located in Stockholm and Gothenburg, as well as a coordination unit located at the headquarters in Stockholm.

Qualifications
- You are a licensed nurse.
- Experience in psychiatric care.
Meritorious
- Experience working in forensic psychiatric care, psychiatric emergency care, correctional care, or similar fields.
Personal qualities/abilities
You have an interest in leadership and are professional in stressful and acute situations. You have the ability to create collaboration, dialogue, and trust with colleagues and detainees. Clarity, responsiveness, and organizational skills are qualities we value highly. It is important that you can express yourself well in spoken and written English.
Due to the nature of the work, great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
Employment
We are looking for summer substitutes during the period of June-August 2026, individual solutions are possible.
The work involves three shifts, daytime, evenings, nights, and weekends.
The place of employment is at the Forensic Psychiatric Examination Unit in Stockholm, Helix located near Huddinge Hospital. The National Board of Forensic Medicine applies individual salary setting, start date by agreement. Selection and interviews will be conducted continuously.
