Technical Manager Electric
Are you interested in managing and developing the electrical systems of Stockholm Ports? We are looking to strengthen our organization with a technical manager for electricity with a long-term management perspective.
Stockholm Ports owns and manages a wide variety of electrical systems – solar power systems, electrified railways, OPS (electrical connections for vessels), high and low voltage networks, motorized backup power, and vehicle charging. We also have ongoing investigations for the expansion of energy storage for peak shaving, charging of heavy vehicles, electrification of work vehicles, building microgrids, and expanding electrification of waterborne public transport.
We are now seeking a driven and engaged technical manager focused on electricity, who wants to take responsibility for our electrical systems from a lifecycle perspective. Your task is to ensure that Stockholm Ports' electrical systems meet and develop with the needs of the business and applicable regulatory requirements over time.
Your Role
You will act as the management responsible for Stockholm Ports' electrical systems from a long-term management perspective.
The focus of the role is to identify the condition of the electrical systems, develop long-term maintenance and reinvestment plans, technical requirements in projects, produce and revise design guidelines and technical descriptions, and ensure an updated asset register.
You will work closely with the existing maintenance engineer for electricity, who is responsible for operational management. Together, you will create optimal management from a holistic perspective.
In this role, you will act as a technical expert and requirements setter within your specialist area of electricity and collaborate with other colleagues within the management organization. Through collaboration and knowledge exchange, you will ensure sustainable, cost-effective, and reliable management with a clear holistic perspective.

You:
- identify the condition of the systems through inspections, inventories, and fault statistics.
- develop long-term maintenance and reinvestment plans.
- act as project owner for electricity-related projects.
- update asset registers and maintenance activities in the maintenance system.
- review documentation from projects.
- are a technical expert and act as an advisory expert and clear requirements setter towards project managers, consultants, and contractors.
- support the rest of the organization in electricity-related issues.
- produce and revise design guidelines and technical descriptions.
- ensure that the electrical systems develop in line with the organization's strategic goals, sustainability ambitions, and long-term investment plans.
- collaborate with external actors, authorities, and organizations.
- work on continuous improvements, cost efficiencies, and evaluation of working methods and management processes.
You will be part of a team of facility managers who work closely with facility operations and project managers. The technical management unit is organizationally located within the company's technology and project department, which is a client organization with about 20 employees and several consultants. The unit is the hub of the department and organizes technical managers in various technology areas such as marine facilities, electrical systems, land & water, properties, mechanical facilities, and control and monitoring systems.
Your workplace is in Stockholm, but you will also be responsible for facilities in Kapellskär port and in our ports in Nynäshamn.
You and your colleagues work in an activity-based office with a waterfront location in Värtahamnen.
What You Bring to the Role
You have:
- post-secondary education with a focus on electrical power or equivalent competence acquired through many years of relevant experience.
- many years of experience in technical management related to electrical systems within industry/energy operations or equivalent.
- good knowledge of distribution networks for high and low voltage, UPS and backup power systems, building electricity, and charging infrastructure.
- experience as a client/project owner/project manager.
- experience in maintenance and reinvestment planning.
- good knowledge of commonly used contracting and agreement forms.
- very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- driver's license B.
Desirable Experiences:
- personal authorization registered with the Electrical Safety Authority (A, AL).
- experience in construction and civil engineering work and construction work environment coordination (Bas-P and Bas-U).
- knowledge of or experience in contract law, LOU/LUF, and the AF AMA system.
- experience with asset management for the management of facility assets and experience with the ISO 55,000 series.
- experience working in maintenance systems and SharePoint-based document management systems.
