About the Position

Transfusion medicine is part of Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine. Within Transfusion Medicine, there are two specializations: Blood Components and Immunohematology. Your main placement will be within Blood Components in Huddinge. Here, we are responsible for the blood supply to healthcare within the Stockholm Region, and most of the blood component storage is kept in Huddinge. The unit consists of a total of 38 employees with varying education and backgrounds, where laboratory assistants, nursing assistants, nurses, biomedical analysts, and laboratory engineers work together.

Blood component storage relies on medical technical equipment such as cold rooms, refrigerators, and freezers. In this role, you will work as a coordinator for equipment intended for the storage of blood components within the region. We have significant storage capacity at several geographical locations within the region and are responsible for ensuring that the equipment meets regulatory requirements, for example, through validations and regular checks.

The work takes place in an operation with accredited methods and a strong focus on quality. The role also includes alarm management and work to develop and update instructions related to equipment and procedures.

Working hours are daytime 8-16:30 on weekdays. We apply flexible working hours. The position is a permanent position. We will use a 6-month probationary period.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Engineering degree
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written

Desirable:

• Experience in cold and freeze storage
• Experience with alarms.
