Do you want to take the next step in your career in a global specialist role where you become an expert in international trade and complex export regulations? At Teledyne FLIR, you will have the opportunity to grow into a business-critical role at the interface of law, technology, and logistics. We are looking for someone with a sharp sense of order who wants to make a real difference in an international environment where no day is the same!
About the position
Teledyne FLIR is a world leader in advanced sensor technology, whose solutions play a crucial role in defense, emergency services, and industrial monitoring. As part of their global operations, compliance with international trade regulations is not only a legal necessity but also a business-critical success factor. They are now looking for a GTC Licensing Analyst for their office in Täby – a role for you who want to build a career in the highly relevant and niche area of Global Trade Compliance (GTC).
The team and work environment
In this role, you will be part of a specialist function that acts as the company's internal compass on issues related to export control and sanctions. You will report to your immediate manager, Elisabeth. The team is characterized by close collaboration where complex international matters are discussed daily. Since no case is the same, open dialogue and the willingness to consult colleagues are highly valued. The environment is international with daily contacts in the USA, Belgium, and Estonia, which requires confidence in communicating in English.
Job responsibilities
As a GTC Licensing Analyst, you will serve as a business-critical bridge between law and business. Your responsibility is to ensure that every transaction and shipment is conducted in accordance with Swedish, European, and American regulations (such as ITAR and EAR). The role is administratively heavy, requires high precision, and is crucial for ensuring that the logistics flow operates without the risk of legal violations.
Your main responsibilities:
- Coordinate and administer applications for export and import licenses as well as other necessary permits for sales, service, and trade shows
- Classify goods according to customs tariffs and origin rules and conduct background checks (Due Diligence) on customers and end users
- Monitor and interpret international trade regulations to develop and implement effective internal processes and guidelines
- Act as an expert in customs and trade issues and educate internal stakeholders on applicable regulations
- Work closely with logistics, purchasing, and legal departments to proactively ensure that the entire organization complies with applicable requirements
We are looking for someone who
- Has a relevant post-secondary education or equivalent work experience (logistics, customs management, international trade, or similar)
- Has a good understanding and interest in export and import processes
- Can interpret and apply complex regulations in practice
- Is fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as both languages are used in daily work
- Is eligible to obtain the necessary export control licenses
It is advantageous if you have
- Knowledge of EU and US export and import regulations
- Experience in trade compliance, preferably within the aerospace and defense industry
- Familiarity with Swedish military material regulations (ML) and EU regulations for dual-use products (PDA/dual-use)
- Experience in applying for Swedish export licenses
To succeed in this role, you should have the following personal qualities:
We believe that you, as a candidate, are a distinctly structured and conscientious person with an eye for detail. The role requires a unique balance of qualities, where you need to be analytical and precise enough to delve into complex documentation, while also being social and communicative enough to act as a support function for the organization.
We prefer that you have a background in logistics, customs management, or international trade, but your attitude and ability to learn are the most important. You have a proactive attitude, dare to take initiative, and are motivated to grow into a specialist role over time. Very good knowledge of both Swedish and English is a prerequisite for success.
Our recruitment process
This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work, and our client's request is that all questions regarding the position be sent to Academic Work.
We apply rolling selection and will take down the advertisement when enough candidates have reached the final stages of the recruitment process. When applying, a CV is requested. A cover letter is not used as a selection method and therefore does not need to be attached. The recruitment process includes two selection tests: a personality test and a cognitive ability test. The tests are a tool to find the candidate with the highest potential for the position and to promote equality, diversity, and a fair recruitment process.
NOTE:
Due to the high-security requirements in the defense industry, you must undergo a background check.
You must be able to work in Sweden, and FLIR conducts security checks on all their employees.
You will work on-site from the office in Arninge/Täby.
