The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra is seeking an alternating solo cellist.

The audition will take place at the Concert Hall Stockholm on June 10–11, 2026, after personal invitation.

Applications must be submitted to Muvac by March 30, 2026.

Invitations to the audition will be sent out on April 27, 2026.

If there are a large number of applicants, a digital screening will take place. This will be communicated after the application deadline. Applicants who have substituted for the advertised position in the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, or hold a corresponding position, or higher in a comparable orchestra qualify directly for the audition on site and therefore do not need to submit a video. In case of a digital screening, the following repertoire will be requested. The video can be recorded in two takes, one with the excerpt and one with the concert. The takes should be without cuts or editing, and the applicant should be visible in the frame at all times.

If a recording for digital screening is requested, it must be uploaded to Muvac by April 12, 2026.

Candidates who reach the final round may be considered for future recruitment to the cello section.
