GIL has been coordinating personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has a legacy from the Independent Living movement, which is based on the principle that those with disabilities know best how they want to live their lives. In normal cases, the person entitled to assistance is the closest supervisor of the assistants, or a person with in-depth knowledge of the individual is appointed.

As a personal assistant, you support a person with a disability to live the life they want. To attract and retain competent and satisfied assistants, we invest in training and events. I live in Billdal and listen to a lot of music and often attend concerts and performances.

For me, it is important to feel community and have fun together. I enjoy driving to the city to feel the pulse. I enjoy good food both at home and in restaurants. I work out at the gym and sometimes in a warm water pool. There is a small dog in the household.

At times, there is a lot of preventive care needed for me to stay healthy, and part of my care is of a medical nature. The job includes supporting and taking initiative. You may also need to plan and structure daily life.

As a person, you are reliable, calm, and social. To keep me healthy, there is a daily routine that you should take the initiative to follow, with a twinkle in your eye, so that I feel secure.

You need to have Swedish as your mother tongue since I speak softly, a bit unclearly, and slowly, and you must assist me in contacts with healthcare and written documentation.

A driver's license with good driving experience is required since I have my own car, which you will drive during work.

Working hours: weekdays: daytime and evening, on weekends it is both daytime, evening, and nights with sleeping on-call (6 hours).
