The National Board of Forensic Medicine has received two new assignments – to conduct risk assessments on behalf of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding conditional release and to carry out special risk investigations regarding security sentences on behalf of the court. The organization and structure of the operations will be shaped over the next year together with clients and employees. The assignments will take effect on January 1, 2026, and March 1, 2026, respectively. To meet an increased workload and new tasks, we are now recruiting several new employees.

We are now looking for an administrator for a temporary position at the Forensic Psychiatric Examination Unit in Stockholm, located at Helix, near Huddinge Hospital.

Your assignment

You will be part of an administrative group consisting of eight administrators and one financial coordinator, under the leadership of a group manager.

The position is an administrative role with a primary focus on daily mail handling and transcription. The work requires high accuracy and very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

The work is performed according to established routines and established working methods. All tasks are carried out on-site in the agency's premises, and therefore there is no possibility for remote work in this role.

The role is focused on relieving the operations by independently managing recurring administrative tasks.

The main tasks are:

• Daily mail handling, including opening, scanning, and registering incoming documents
• Registration of documents and cases in the agency's case management system
• Transcription
• Some simple orders

It may also be possible to gradually expand the tasks.

Qualifications

• Trained medical secretary/healthcare administrator or other work experience that we find relevant for the position
• Experience working in public administration or government agency
• Very good knowledge of transcription
• Experience in administrative work
• Very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form, which is particularly important for the correct registration of documents and transcription
• High IT maturity and good experience working in various digital systems
• Experience in mail handling

Desirable

• Experience handling documents with high confidentiality

The Department of Forensic Psychiatry investigates on behalf of the court whether a person suspected of a crime committed it under the influence of a serious mental disorder. We also conduct risk assessments when life-sentenced individuals apply for a time-limited sentence. The Department of Forensic Psychiatry consists of two forensic psychiatric examination units located in Stockholm and Gothenburg, as well as the coordination unit located at the headquarters in Stockholm.
