Deputy Unit Manager at the Mobile Emergency Unit

The Mobile Emergency Unit is an on-call reception serving the northwestern municipalities of Region Stockholm, available every day of the week from 08:00 to 22:00. The unit employs nurses, doctors, and nursing assistants with extensive experience in acute psychiatry. The unit's specialist doctors are also responsible for urgent psychiatric consultations at NKS and DS during office hours. The unit is part of Psychiatry Northwest and is located at Karolinska University Hospital in Solna.

We are now looking for a deputy unit manager for a parental leave position. The assignment consists of a temporary full-time appointment for initially about four months, followed by a 50% appointment that covers the deputy unit manager's parental leave. During this period, the remaining duties will be performed as a nurse. After the temporary assignment, the position will transition to full-time nursing.

Job Responsibilities

Together with the unit manager, you will lead and support the staff, promote a good collaborative climate, and work towards high patient safety and a good working environment. You will be responsible for continuity and structure and ensure that routines and guidelines are followed. You will play a central role in development and quality work together with the unit manager and the medically responsible doctor and will be proactive in implementing new knowledge. You will be responsible for coordination in nursing work regarding staffing planning together with the unit manager.

Clinical work as a nurse is included in the position. The work as a nurse mainly involves urgent psychiatric care interventions, e.g., home visits together with doctors, support, advice, and guidance by phone, and scheduled individual outpatient visits.

You will act as a deputy to the unit manager according to their delegation.

Employment Type

Permanent employment as a nurse with a temporary assignment as deputy unit manager. The assignment follows the deputy unit manager's parental leave.

The working hours as deputy unit manager are weekdays from 7:45 to 16:15.

The working hours as a nurse are scheduled with 2 weekends out of five, as well as evening shifts in addition to daytime hours.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse with a genuine interest in helping people with psychiatric problems both in acute situations and more long-term.

Previous experience as a deputy unit manager, specialist training in psychiatry, and experience with Heroma and the Take Care journal system are advantageous.
