Make a difference. Every day.

Welcome to the cardiac department in Malmö!

Here, you thrive if you appreciate a workplace with a fast pace and short care times. We care for patients with various heart diseases, ranging from observations of suspected heart disease to advanced multi-morbidity. The patient clientele is broad, including both young and older patients.

The department consists of 30 care places divided into three medical flows: coronary arteries, heart failure and valve, and arrhythmia. The department includes a coronary angiography and PCI lab with both acute and elective patients. The operations also include pacemaker insertions and electrical conversion of arrhythmias. There is also an ultrasound lab and nurse-led clinics for arrhythmias, pacemakers, and long-term ECG monitoring.

The department collaborates with other units in both Lund and Malmö, such as thoracic surgery and intensive care, as well as other hospitals within and outside the region. All staff categories work closely together with the patient in focus.

In cardiac care at Skåne University Hospital (Sus), research is conducted at local, national, and international levels. This means that we are at the forefront as a unit where you, as a nurse, are continuously engaged in various research studies and thus contribute to advancing the development of cardiac care as a whole.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer you as a nurse a stimulating and developing work environment with the goal that all employees feel joy, pride, and loyalty in their work. The work is varied, and you will alternate between the ward and the coronary angiography lab.

In the cardiac department, your base placement will be in one of the medical flows: coronary arteries or heart failure and valve/arrhythmia. This is to give you a deeper understanding and competence regarding the specific flow's patients. Since all three flows are part of the same department, we naturally help each other, and you will work in and gain knowledge within all medical flows. The team around the patient consists of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and medical secretaries.

Working in the coronary angiography lab means varied work. The responsibilities in the coronary angiography operations include being the patient-responsible nurse in the lab, handling pre- and post-operative care during coronary angiography/PCI. It is an advantage if you are technically interested and have an interest in sterile work. There is also the possibility for further education to become an assisting nurse.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is forward-thinking and has a great interest in development, learning, and of course, cardiac care! You feel secure in your professional role and can handle the rapid prioritizations and shifts in focus that can arise in acute situations. You see the value of good collaboration and contribute to this by sharing your knowledge and experiences. Your flexible and positive attitude and engagement contribute to a good work environment, where we all help each other and collaborate to achieve the best quality of care for our patients.

The formal requirements for the position are that you are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are also a requirement. If you have previous experience in cardiac care, we consider it an advantage for the position.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

In this recruitment, we apply continuous selection, and interviews may be held during the advertisement's publication period. We welcome your application today! We look forward to getting to know you!
