About the position

We at Olaus Petriskolan F-6 are looking for a solution-oriented and service-minded custodian. In the role of custodian, you will be an important part of the service function and work closely with the manager, principals, cleaning staff, and other personnel. You have the ability to see what needs to be done and ensure daily that our facilities function satisfactorily for both students and staff. As a custodian with us, you will continuously work on the maintenance of furnishings, supervision and maintenance of premises, alarms, locks, and simpler repairs. The job also includes some IT support and updates of computers as well as installations of projectors and other digital equipment. You will also be responsible for bookings and rentals of premises as well as fire and safety rounds. The work can be physically demanding and some lifting is involved, for example, during winter snow shoveling at entrances is included.

Examples of tasks:

• be responsible for supervision, care, and maintenance of furnishings
• be responsible for lock and alarm routines as well as key management
• be responsible for receiving deliveries and handling incoming and outgoing mail
• be responsible for performing certain transports
• be responsible for copiers and conference equipment
• be the contact person for contractors and the property owner
• assemble and troubleshoot AV products

About the workplace

Olaus Petriskolan is a F-9 school that operates from two different locations, grades F–6 have their activities in facilities in the north, and grades 7–9 have their activities in facilities in central Örebro. In the role of custodian, you will work at Olaus Petriskolan F-6 where you have a custodian room that you work from. The school has about 360 students distributed across 5 work teams including Olaus Petriskolan's Resource School. With us, students also have the opportunity to take advanced courses in the school's profiles before and after school hours. This school year we offer: football profile under ÖSK management, sports and health, and a music profile for the middle school. We work based on a prioritized development effort focusing on value-based work for everyone's equal value and a health-promoting effort to promote active breaks.

Olaus Petriskolan has also been a training school in close collaboration with the teacher education at Örebro University since the 2015/2016 school year, which means that we receive many student teachers.

Qualifications

To thrive in the role of custodian with us, you are confident, attentive, and take responsibility for your tasks. You have practical skills to handle simpler repairs and technical equipment and can adapt to changing conditions. You are observant and accommodating in your approach and structure your work method. We also see that you easily adapt to changing circumstances and different tasks in your role. Furthermore, you take initiative and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. While you enjoy working independently, you appreciate good relationships and collaboration with your colleagues. Additionally, you master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with students and other staff and document what the operation requires in writing.

Requirements:

• completed upper secondary education
• B driver's license for manual transmission
• knowledge and experience of working with IT-related tasks

Meritorious:

• experience in maintaining IT equipment/AV equipment through, for example, installation, software updates, and troubleshooting
• experience working in IT systems for managing locks and alarms
• experience in property maintenance
• experience working with children and youth
