About the position
We are looking for a self-driven, proactive, and engaged employee for the Operations Unit based at Trängens IP.
With us, you will be part of a team based at Trängens IP, responsible for the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the municipality's sports facilities. The tasks are varied and largely outdoors. A significant part of the work consists of machine operation and maintenance of both natural and artificial grass fields as well as ice facilities. This includes tasks such as mowing, lining, aeration, and brushing, as well as ice maintenance with ice machines, edge trimming, and ice repairs. You will also be responsible for servicing and basic maintenance of machines and tools.
In connection with matches and events, you will be responsible for preparing and restoring sports venues, such as goals, benches, signage, and barriers. The role also includes supervision and rounds of the facilities, cleaning of changing rooms and common areas, as well as administration related to bookings, tags, and keys.
Some of the work is done independently, which means you need to be able to plan your work, take responsibility, and see what needs to be done in daily tasks. You are expected to take initiative within the framework of the assignment. Working hours are varied and follow a rolling schedule with daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
You will have ongoing contact with associations, schools, and organizers using our facilities, both through personal meetings on-site and via digital systems. Therefore, we view positively if you have an understanding of the needs and conditions of the association life.
Examples of tasks:
In the role of sports ground caretaker at Trängen, you will work with the operation and maintenance of the municipality's sports facilities. Your main tasks include:
- ice flooding and maintenance in our ice halls
- mowing, lining, and aerating football fields
- maintenance of artificial grass fields, including brushing and checking infill
- maintenance, washing, and servicing of machinery and tools
- preparation of sports venues before and after matches or events
- inspection and rounds of facilities to ensure functionality and safety
- cleaning and restoring changing rooms and public areas
- ensuring correct bookings and preparations of facilities
- ongoing contact with associations, schools, and organizers, both physically and via digital systems
- handling of tags and keys
About the workplace
The Operations Unit is part of the Culture and Leisure Administration in Örebro Municipality. We are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's sports facilities. The unit currently consists of about 25 employees, distributed across the workplaces Behrn Arena, Trängens IP, and Idrottshuset.
The current position is based at Trängens IP, which is centrally located in Örebro, but you may also need to perform tasks at other facilities as needed. Here, you work together with colleagues in an engaged team focused on creating well-functioning and welcoming facilities for associations, schools, and the public.

Qualifications

Requirements:
- high school education
- driver's license B for manual transmission vehicles
- good machinery experience (e.g., ice machines, tractors, tool carriers, ride-on mowers)
- experience working in digital systems
Meritorious:
- experience in ice maintenance
- experience in grass care
- experience in artificial grass maintenance
- experience in maintenance and servicing of machinery and tools
- experience in inspections and rounds of facilities
- experience in handling tags and keys
- good experience working in Microsoft Teams
- experience in service-oriented work, preferably in contact with associations or the public
Scope and start date
Employment type: seasonal employment
Employment rate: 100%
Start date: May 1, or by agreement
Working hours: day, evening, every third weekend
