Maintenance Technician with Focus on Mechanics and Repair
We are looking for a maintenance technician with a focus on mechanics and repair in an industrial/process technical environment. You will be part of our operations team at the treatment plant. We are looking for someone who is currently working or has worked with maintenance technology, repair, mechanical work, with a sense of problem-solving and creative thinking.
About the Position
Welcome to the Treatment Plant! In the role of maintenance technician, you have an important function to ensure that repair and maintenance work functions in the best possible way. Together with our other operations and maintenance technicians, electrical engineers, supervisors, group leaders, and unit managers, your work will contribute to repairing and maintaining our systems, so we can purify our water and create a good environment for the future. The work is located on-site at the Skebäck treatment plant in Örebro, our surrounding facilities, and pumping stations. In this position, your employer will be Örebro Municipality, where you are expected to follow the municipality's policies and procedures in your work.
Examples of Job Responsibilities:
- Repairs of wastewater process technical equipment such as pumps, pipes, valves, meters, compressors, and similar
- Update machinery, spare parts, and safety equipment
- Plan and carry out maintenance work in a work environment, time-efficient, and cost-effective manner
- Maintain the spare parts inventory and make purchases of spare parts
- Collaborate with contractors
- Participate in planning and operational meetings
- Work in the maintenance system IDUS for managing work orders and periodic maintenance points
About the Workplace
Within the Water and Sewage operations, you will have colleagues in many different roles, with a variety of tasks. Together we ensure that the residents of Örebro have clean drinking water from the tap, take care of and purify wastewater, maintain and expand the pipeline network, and develop water supply for the future through, for example, our newly built water reservoir Lyran.
The treatment plant is part of the Technical and Service Administration, TSF, where environmental requirements, good economy, and quality are cornerstones of our operations. TSF is responsible for streets, roads, pedestrian and bicycle paths, parking supervision, traffic, squares, parks, and green areas, water and sewage, waste, gas networks, and biogas production, the municipality's vehicles, and internal mail handling. Your workplace is at Skebäcksverket, Örebro's treatment plant, which is beautifully located adjacent to a nature reserve and a fantastic environment for walks. We are a team of about 30 employees who are proud of our fine treatment plant.
Our operational area covers the entire municipality with 8 treatment plants and about 125 pumping stations.
Qualifications
At the treatment plant, we work very closely with all professional categories and have good cooperation and a very good dialogue. We value the open and positive culture we have and therefore place great importance on collaboration skills, social competence, and how you as a person can contribute to a better workplace. You are flexible and can prioritize your tasks depending on what is most urgent, and you can adapt to changing circumstances. Furthermore, you have a good ability to work independently and feel comfortable taking your own initiatives in your daily tasks. The role also requires that you can handle the Swedish language in speech and writing as required by the operation regarding written documentation and oral communication in daily work.
We place great importance on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- Technical vocational education at the high school level, or other high school education combined with equivalent education/work experience
- Driving license B, manual transmission
Meritorious:
- Experience of practical work and maintenance of technical workshop machinery such as lathes, welders, grinders, drills, and cutting machines
- Knowledge in reading machine drawings
- Good knowledge of metals, alloys, filler materials, thread cutting, measurement principles, and sheet metal processing, joints, processing, cutting, grinding, and drilling
- Experience in VA-process or industry
- Experience in purchasing technical workshop materials
- Experience in public administration
- Experience in systematic work environment management
- Tractor driving license
- Wheel loader training
- Trained in Hot Work
