The group is owned by Swedish farmers and operates throughout the value chain – from field to fork. Through innovation and sustainable solutions, Lantmännen contributes to strengthening Swedish food production and increasing self-sufficiency.

As part of this initiative, Lantmännen is investing in a new factory in Lidköping for the production of plant-based protein from peas. The pea factory is an important future investment that will contribute to increased use of Swedish legumes and sustainable protein sources. The factory is in the startup phase, and the laboratory operations are a central part to ensure quality, stable processes, and high product standards.

About the position

As a Laboratory Technician, you will have a broad role with responsibility for establishing, structuring, and implementing laboratory operations in the new factory. You will play a key role in the work to start up and complete the laboratory in the pea factory and ensure that work methods, methods, and systems function from production start. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the quality team, process engineers, and external suppliers. You will report to the Laboratory and Operations Development Manager.

Your main tasks will include:

• Setting up the laboratory regarding furniture and instruments
• Developing methods and instructions for analyses and calibrations
• Implementing work methods for recording analysis results
• Participating in trial runs, taking and analyzing samples
• Identifying and establishing sampling points in collaboration with quality and process engineers
• Training operators and other staff in sampling and analyses.
• Contacts with external laboratories and suppliers

Employment form

The position is a project employment for 2026 and is directly linked to the startup of the new factory. The assignment begins as a consulting position via StudentConsulting, with the possibility of extension.

• Location is Lidköping
• Working hours are during office hours.
• Start is immediate or as agreed

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who has:

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field
• At least two years of experience in laboratory work
• Good familiarity with laboratory instruments and practical lab work
• Good computer skills and experience with business systems
• Fluent Swedish and good knowledge of English

Meritorious are:

• Experience from the process industry
• Experience with the business system M3
• Experience with sensory analysis

Personal qualities

To succeed in this role, you need to be meticulous, calm, and methodical with a good ability to plan and structure your work. You work independently and take responsibility for driving tasks to completion, while also being comfortable with the practical work of installing and handling laboratory instruments. Since the role involves many points of contact, it is important that you are communicative, social, and clear in your dialogue with both colleagues and suppliers. You are confident in expressing your opinions in a professional and constructive manner when the situation requires it, are solution-oriented, and have a pragmatic approach.
