Job Description

We are looking for a trainee in the water and wastewater area who wants to contribute to the development of our water and sewage operations.

In this role, you will work with qualified investigation and planning tasks that are central to the municipality's long-term sustainability efforts. You will, among other things, conduct investigations and inspections of our stormwater facilities in preparation for environmental supervision, as well as participate in the development of maintenance plans for both stormwater and wastewater pipelines.

The assignment also includes working with the municipality's Water Service Plan, where you will be responsible for reviewing and revising relevant appendices and documents within the water and wastewater sector. You will also have the opportunity to follow a water project through the entire process – from planning to final inspection – which will give you a broad understanding of both technology, planning, and implementation. The work is complemented by participation in various types of water-related tasks in daily operations.

For the trainee program, we are looking for candidates who are deemed to have particularly good prospects of taking on leading or strategic specialist functions in the future. The trainee program provides a very good insight into how municipal operations work, and you will gain a fantastic network for your future career.

As a trainee, you will work on qualified assignments in your home municipality and gain personal development through the program's development days. You will also work on and drive a project together with your trainee colleagues. During the employment year, approximately 25% of your working hours will be dedicated to development days through the program. The trainee program lasts for 12 months, starting on September 1, 2026. The municipality in which your employment is located will be communicated before the final interviews.

Qualifications

You who are applying are a recent graduate, with a maximum of two years old university degree. You have some work experience but a great commitment to social issues. We are looking for someone with a degree in civil engineering with a focus on road and water or another higher education with some focus on water that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Since the development program in the trainee program is in Swedish, you need to master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

You are a community developer who likes to question and come up with new ideas. You have the ability to drive development and change efforts. To succeed in your assignment, you also need to have good collaboration skills, be communicative in interactions, speech, and writing, and have the ability to work both independently and in a group.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. To be accepted into the trainee program, you must have obtained your university degree before the start of the trainee program on September 1, 2026.
