The Vision Center is a small, close-knit, and warm operation where we together create conditions for people with visual impairments to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

We who work at the vision center are optometrists, vision educators, social workers, technicians, and medical secretaries. We are a supportive team where we collaborate and help each other, even across professional boundaries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Here you will have a role where you can contribute to development, and where your skills and personal qualities are highly valued. At the same time, you are an important part of a safe, competent, and caring team where we put the patient in focus.

Your responsibilities include:

• Psycho-social assessment and treatment work.
• Crises conversations, supportive/motivational talks.
• Community information.
• Individual and group interventions for children, parents, and adults.
• Telephone surveys.
• Information meetings.
• Teamwork with optometrists, vision educators, and technicians.
• Reception and home visits.
• Documentation in the current journal system - Cosmic.

We also participate in ongoing regional team meetings together with the Northern Region by profession.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker, preferably with a license as a healthcare social worker. We would like you to have experience and interest in rehabilitation for people with disabilities.

A valid driver's license (Class B) is required for the position, as travel is involved.

Your personal qualities are very important to us. You have a positive attitude and contribute to a good atmosphere in the workgroup. You are flexible, positive, and see opportunities in changes. We appreciate if you are empathetic, attentive, and confident in your communication. You are independent but also find it easy to work in a team. You plan most of your work yourself, so it is good if you are structured and good at prioritizing.
