Social Worker for the Adult Unit

We are looking for a social worker for a one-year temporary position in the Adult Unit. Since it is desirable for the position to start as soon as possible, interviews will begin shortly, even if the application period has not yet expired.

In the unit, we investigate interventions for adults according to the Social Services Act and are organizationally part of the Child and Adult Sector within the Social and Labor Market Administration. The unit handles authority exercise with the main task of investigating and making decisions regarding interventions related to addiction treatment and support and protection for adults exposed to violence in close relationships. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with both target groups. We also investigate other applications from adults with various types of support needs.

The investigative work is fundamentally independent but in high collaboration with the Child and Family Unit and other parts of social services as well as the region and police.

Your New Job

As a social worker in the Adult Unit, you will meet individuals in vulnerable life situations with addiction and/or violence. Your task is to conduct risk assessments regarding ongoing violence and investigate the need for other interventions that can support the individual moving forward. This can range from extensive protective measures to simpler advice over the phone. You have a large scope for action and great opportunities to make a difference for a citizen. For citizens with addiction issues, investigations are conducted according to both SoL and LVM and extensive collaboration with our outpatient care and the region is required. We use ASI and FREDA as assessment tools.

Working hours are between 8 AM and 5 PM, with high availability to quickly handle incoming urgent cases and to implement interventions at short notice. An on-call phone is staffed during office hours. The work is interesting, challenging, and multifaceted for those who are stimulated by facing complex situations and challenges that require problem-solving and collaboration.

Your Competence

Requirements

  • You have a degree in social work
  • You have good computer skills
  • You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious

  • You have good knowledge of current legislation
  • You have experience working with authority exercise
  • You have experience collaborating with external actors
  • It is strongly meritorious if you have worked with and/or further educated yourself in the area of harmful use and dependence or violence in close relationships.
  • You have knowledge of the operational system Viva
  • You have a driver's license
  • Good knowledge of social services laws
  • Good knowledge of LVM
  • You have training in risk assessment instruments Freda, Patriarch, or Sara V-3
  • You have training in ASI
