Within the Care and Support Administration
We have full-time as the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. More information about what this means for this position will be provided during a potential interview. Exceptions to the full-time norm are personal assistants.

About the workplace
Gamla Uppsala Löten home care is a home care service where we help elderly people stay at home as long as possible. With us, you will be part of an experienced team that works together to create safe and good care for our clients in the area.
The work involves day and evening shifts according to an 8-week schedule, including work every other weekend. With us, you work independently but always have colleagues, planners, and managers close at hand by phone. To be able to travel between clients, you need to be able to cycle.
About the position
In this role, you need to take significant responsibility. We welcome you who take initiative and enjoy driving the work forward. With us, there is room to take on representative roles and contribute to the development of the organization. Good self-leadership is important.
As a nursing assistant with us, you work in the clients' own homes and assist based on the services decided by the case manager. This may include:
- cleaning and shopping
- assistance with meals and personal hygiene
- administering medication after delegation
- social interaction and supervision
You often work independently but are part of a team where everyone helps each other.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- is a nursing assistant with a protected professional title or has several years of experience as a care assistant, but in that case, we also require a driver's license
- has experience working in care and support
- can cycle in all weather conditions
Personal qualities
We are looking for someone who is proactive and independent, who enjoys initiating tasks and following them through to a good result. You are flexible and can quickly adapt if plans change. You are also stable and calm, even in stressful situations, and can maintain focus. To succeed in this role, you need to have good empathetic skills, be able to understand the clients' situations, and meet them in a respectful manner. Furthermore, you see the bigger picture, understand your mission, and work for the best of the organization.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is protected. To use the title nursing assistant, you must provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. If you have nursing assistant training but lack proof or a certificate, you may temporarily receive the title of care assistant during a transition period.
We will request a criminal record extract before an employment offer can be made.
In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
An employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve a military placement.
