Our Operations

The Hematology section is part of the field of Blood and Tumor Diseases. The section offers regional and highly specialized healthcare. Hematology is responsible for the investigation and treatment of patients with benign and malignant blood diseases, including stem cell transplants. We have an inpatient department as well as an outpatient unit for outpatient care and treatment. In collaboration with Uppsala University, we conduct research, development, and education.

Your Mission

We are now offering a position as a resident physician (ST-läkare), which can lead to a double specialty in internal medicine/hematology or a single specialty in hematology. The employment is located at the hematology section, but to meet the competency requirements, service in several areas of the hospital is included. On-call duty is part of the hospital's shared medical on-call service. For our resident physicians, research and teaching are usually also included in the position.

Your Qualifications

To qualify for the position, you must be a licensed physician and have completed Swedish AT (internship) or equivalent. However, you do not need to be licensed at the time of application. You should have an interest in research and development, but you do not need to have documented research experience. Teaching experience is also an additional merit.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone who has a high degree of personal maturity and a pronounced ability to collaborate. The complexity and rapid development of the field impose high demands on analytical problem-solving skills and a holistic view in your medical decision-making. And you must find hematology enjoyable.
