About the Job

You will work in one or more of our units with commonly occurring tasks for an animal caregiver with extended authorization. With us, you will work evidence-based and have access to modern equipment.

At UDS, education is an important and fun part of our everyday life. During your employment at the small animal department, you will mentor future veterinary nurses and veterinarians, as well as interns from animal high schools.

All employees in the small animal department work on a list service agreement, which means that work can be scheduled at all times of the day - weekdays during the day, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Your Background

You are an animal caregiver level 2 with experience working in the operating room or have other experience in healthcare that the employer deems equivalent. You express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish.

You enjoy meeting pet owners in various situations and recognize the importance of maintaining good customer relationships. You are communicative with a good ability to create and maintain good relationships with colleagues. You are interested in participating in the work of creating good conditions for basic education and research. You know that a situation-driven operation is something you can handle. Your approach is scientific with an interest in evidence-based care.

As a person, you are structured, can handle occasionally pressured situations, have good self-awareness, and a desire to contribute to the organization. In this recruitment, we will place great emphasis on your personal abilities.

About Us

The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for undergraduate education, research, and doctoral education in anesthesiology, imaging diagnostics, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and reproduction. Our activities span all animal species.

At SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research, and advanced veterinary care go hand in hand. We train tomorrow's veterinarians and veterinary nurses and provide first-class care to companion animals, competition animals, and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public. By combining established knowledge with the latest research results, we develop the veterinary care of the future.

Under one roof, we offer healthcare for horses, dogs, cats, and other small animals. In addition to modern operationally adapted facilities, we have access to advanced imaging diagnostics and a veterinary medical specialist laboratory. UDS's operations also include an ambulatory clinic that goes out to stables and farms to examine and treat horses and livestock.
