Physiotherapist for Elderly Care in Sala

Are you curious about working in elderly care? Now is your chance to make a difference for the elderly in Sala! One of our employees is going on parental leave, and we are therefore looking for a physiotherapist for a longer temporary position.

About Us

The rehab team in Sala municipality is a wonderful and ambitious group consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and rehab assistants, responsible for rehabilitation efforts for patients within the entire municipality's elderly care, as well as in the area of disabilities. We are a relatively large team of about 27 employees, which in turn is divided into smaller working groups based on operational area. What unites us all is our strong commitment to ensure that the municipality's residents receive the best possible care based on their individual needs, goals, and conditions. By sharing ideas, thoughts, and experiences with each other, we constantly seek improvements and see opportunities in the challenges we face. You will be offered a positive and secure work environment with many engaged and knowledgeable colleagues! We actively work to ensure good and safe care for our patients according to the municipality's values: Simple - Efficient - Citizen-friendly.

Your Responsibilities

As a physiotherapist, you will be part of a team together with occupational therapists, nurses, rehab assistants, and care staff. Based on individual needs, you will also collaborate with unit managers, coordinators, care managers, and external actors such as primary care and inpatient care. You will independently plan your days and meet patients in their own homes, both in regular and special housing. Through a person-centered approach, you will perform physiotherapeutic examinations, assessments, and interventions (e.g., training and equipment prescriptions) based on the individual's unique needs, goals, and conditions. You will have a natural and active role in the team around the patients regarding preventive and rehabilitative efforts at both individual and group levels.

There are great opportunities for exchanging experiences and collegial support as needed, as you will have daily contact with your colleagues in the rehab team. Sharing office space with the region's rehab staff at Sala Hospital also provides opportunities for knowledge exchange and facilitates collaboration during discharge from the care department.

In addition to patient-related work, your responsibilities also include supporting, guiding, and to some extent educating care staff in functional and activity-preserving methods, ergonomics, transfer knowledge, and handling of aids. Together with unit managers and colleagues, you will also participate in the quality and development work of the operations.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a licensed physiotherapist (or physical therapist), preferably with a couple of years of experience in the profession. Previous experience in municipal rehabilitation and work in special housing is an advantage, as well as further education in areas such as dementia, geriatrics, or other relevant qualifications deemed appropriate by the employer. You are engaged in your work, have an easy time collaborating, and can communicate pedagogically with patients, colleagues, relatives, and other partners. You are solution-focused, proactive, and feel confident making decisions within your professional area of responsibility. The tasks are varied and of different natures, which requires you to be responsible, structured, flexible, and solution-oriented.

What You Get

We want you to thrive and feel good with us, and therefore Sala municipality offers several benefits to you as an employee. We are very keen on providing you with a good and individually tailored introduction, especially if you are new to the profession. In addition to friendly colleagues and a varied job, you will receive:

  • Flexible working hours
  • Wellness allowance of 2000 SEK/year or the option to convert the wellness allowance to a health examination
  • Opportunity to work some hours remotely
  • Opportunities for professional development during working hours

A valid driver's license and experience driving a car are required. You should also be able to cycle. The work requires good computer skills and a good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Personal suitability is of great importance.
