About the Department

The Addiction Department offers specialized care for individuals with substance use disorders, with or without psychiatric comorbidity. We operate in a modern matrix organization where our two addiction clinics – Hisingen and Olskroken – work closely with the Resource Clinic for Addiction. The department also includes:

• Four LARO clinics
• Three Mini Maria clinics
• Clinic for gambling addiction and screen health
• Nordhemskliniken with an alcohol outpatient clinic, drop-in, and inpatient care
• Three care wards at Östra Hospital
• Psychiatric emergency reception, with community care teams and consultancy services.
• Several specialized teams and a strong R&D unit

What do we offer?

You will be an important part of the development of addiction care as the proposals from the comorbidity investigation are implemented. We can offer you a supplementary specialization in addiction medicine during your service as a specialist. If you have an interest in research, there are good opportunities to accommodate that as well. We are a large group of physicians who welcome you!

Job Responsibilities

As a specialist physician at one of our base clinics, you will be heavily involved in a leading role regarding care and treatment. You will lead teams at the clinic and digital rounds with inpatient care. You will supervise residents, interns, and junior doctors in so-called Fork Clinics and tapering teams. The patient group is 18 years and older with substance use disorders and often comorbidity. You will collaborate extensively with care neighbors and inpatient care around the patient.

This is a varied job consisting of planned activities and acute assessments. You will handle ÖPT cases and be part of a physician group that collaborates and meets regularly. We are about 30 specialist physicians and 12 residents with a focus on addiction in their psychiatry residency.

About You

We are looking for you as a psychiatrist with a genuine interest in addiction medicine. You have a Swedish license and specialist certificate. If you are at the end of your residency and passionate about addiction care, you are also welcome to reach out. Experience in addiction care is advantageous.
