The administrative unit belongs to the Technology and Service Office in Strängnäs municipality. Here we work with administration in various forms. We work with registration, office-wide investigations, and invoice management. The vehicle unit and the municipality's postal service are part of the unit, and now also traffic management, traffic planning, public transport, and parking supervision. We are now looking for an engaged and structured employee who wants to work with issues related to the municipality's street land and road network. The role has a clear focus on ensuring quality, sustainability, and good order in work that affects the public environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The assignment includes working with permit and follow-up issues related to work in street land, where you play an important role in the dialogue with contractors and other actors. You contribute to ensuring that work is planned, executed, and completed in a way that meets the municipality's requirements and creates a sustainable and traffic-safe environment.

Another central part of the position involves working with the development and management of the municipal road network. You will participate in assessing the condition of roads and pavements, preparing decision-making materials, and contributing to prioritizing investments and measures where they provide the greatest benefit. There is a clear holistic perspective here, where technical assessments, economics, and long-term planning are interconnected.

The role involves both administrative tasks and operational work. You are expected to follow up that decisions and actions have the intended effect, both technically and economically. The assignment also includes processing matters for the committee and participating in other tasks that are compatible with the office's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Post-secondary education in civil engineering, road and water, or construction technology, or other education or work experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • Experience working with street and land issues, roads, or construction.
  • Good knowledge of excavation permits, traffic plans, and work in public street land.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Good administrative skills and experience working in a structured manner.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • Good ability to use IT as a support in work, e.g., Office package, Teams, etc.
  • Driver's license B.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working in a municipality or other public sector.
  • Experience in following up on contracts and work according to AB/ABT, AMA construction.
  • Knowledge of paving technology, asphalt, and the life cycle of road surfaces.
  • Experience in inventory and permit assessment of the road network.
  • Familiarity with ISY-Road, GIS systems, or other systems for road maintenance and case management.
  • Experience in financial follow-up or invoicing related to projects.
