Healthcare Assistant for the Maternity Ward in Hudiksvall

The maternity ward in Hudiksvall has approximately 900 deliveries per year from week 32 of pregnancy. Our maternity department has eight care places, all with private rooms where partners can stay during the care period. We have a working method we call NSF, newborn family-centered care, where we strive for zero separation between mother and child and collaborate with NEO to achieve our ambition.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work as a healthcare assistant with us is varied and educational. You work closely with the patient and family in close collaboration with nurses and midwives.

As a healthcare assistant, you will among other things:

• work in a team with midwives and nurses to provide safe and secure care
• support and assist new parents in their role
• perform medical checks on mother and child
• help and teach cup feeding when necessary
• provide support during breastfeeding and contribute to a positive breastfeeding experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are now looking for a dedicated and competent healthcare assistant for our maternity ward. As a healthcare assistant, you are an important part of our team and play a central role in providing our patients with the best possible care.

To succeed in this role, we see that you are responsible, flexible, and have a good ability to plan and organize your work effectively.

In the role of healthcare assistant, you should:

• be a healthcare assistant or have completed the third term of nursing education
• have good knowledge of the Swedish language both spoken and written
• be open to working days and evenings, all days of the week.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience in pediatric and women's health care.

Information about the title Healthcare Assistant

As of July 1, 2023, the title healthcare assistant will be a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title healthcare assistant within health and care. You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care but with a different title than healthcare assistant. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant until your certificate is submitted.
