Reception 5 is a psychiatric outpatient clinic that offers assessment and treatment for patients with specialist psychiatric needs based on national guidelines and care programs.

The clinic is responsible for patients born between the 24th and 31st of each month.

Our Mission

Our mission is specialist psychiatric care and treatment/assessment for patients with neuropsychiatric issues, psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and other general psychiatric conditions. Our operations are temporarily located in the inner harbor of Karlstad while our regular premises in Klara are being renovated.

In November 2025, the psychiatric outpatient care in Karlstad was reorganized into the current structure with four date-divided clinics. We are now in a development phase where we are collaboratively developing new working methods and routines. You will have great opportunities to influence the work ahead with us. At the clinic, we work in teams, and you will collaborate with doctors, nurses, psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, and administrative staff.

Your Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist at Reception 5, you will work with occupational therapy treatment both individually and in groups, as well as assess activity ability and map out support needs in daily life. Part of your role as an occupational therapist with us is also to contribute the occupational therapy perspective in the team during treatment conferences. Your responsibilities also include development work and quality assurance. The work also involves collaboration with care neighbors, authorities, and the patient's network.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist, preferably with prior experience in psychiatry. Since travel is required for the position, a valid driver's license (B) is a requirement.

You should have a strong patient focus with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach to work. Together with the rest of the team, you take responsibility for patient safety and quality in the care we provide. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively and consider the whole when you act and make decisions.
