Operational Buyer in Indirect Sourcing (IDP) – (temporary position)

On behalf of our client, we are now looking for an Operational Buyer to join the Indirect Sourcing Business team. This assignment is a temporary position during a parental leave.

About the role

The Indirect Sourcing Business team supports the organization globally in the areas of Temporary Labor, Travel, Professional Services, and Sales & Marketing. The team consists of six members based in Sweden: one Operational Buyer, four Category Managers, and one Team Manager.

As an Operational Buyer, you are responsible for delivering world-class procurement support to the organization’s stakeholders. You drive and implement procurement initiatives, support digitalization and process automation, and contribute to achieving cost and business goals.

Indirect Sourcing is known for its stakeholder-focused approach, agility, and ability to continuously create added value. In this role, you will work closely with Category Managers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective execution of operational tasks, new initiatives, and savings projects.

Main responsibilities

• Conduct procurement activities according to the applicable sourcing policy and strategy with a focus on quality and business benefit
• Be responsible for the supplier base within your category area
• Contribute to and conduct negotiations across multiple geographical areas, using the tool Coupa
• Identify and realize savings initiatives and conduct RFQs in Coupa
• Ensure that agreements with prioritized suppliers are utilized and followed
• Identify negotiation opportunities based on company, supplier, and market data
• Collaborate closely with other operational buyers and category managers to ensure the implementation of programs and initiatives
• Ensure clear specifications together with stakeholders according to applicable procurement guidelines
• Create and update content in Coupa (forms and catalogs)
• Actively share best practices within the team and drive improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Academic degree in areas such as economics, business, or equivalent
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in procurement or a related field
• Experience working in an international environment with multiple functions and geographical locations
• Good negotiation skills
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Strong system proficiency, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Office
• Experience with indirect services, either from the procurement or supplier side
