We are looking for an experienced Product Designer who wants to be part of our product team and help shape the design foundation of our products, from everyday UI decisions to long-term design strategy.
This is a senior specialist role (individual contributor). You will not lead a design team, but you will have significant influence over design direction, principles, and processes. You have several years of experience in similar work.
About ProrenataProrenata develops user-friendly, efficient, and engaging tools for professions that often have to work with outdated and difficult-to-use systems. We have been profitable for over ten years, are growing steadily, and have our office in central Stockholm. We are a tech company with a heart for social benefit, where innovation, structure, and culture truly meet. We employ smart, caring, and engaged people who enjoy working together. We take pride in our helpful culture and believe in balance, joy, and clarity in everything we do.
Our main product, Prorenata Journal, is the leading journal system for Swedish student health and is used daily by thousands of school nurses, special educators, principals, and teachers in the majority of Sweden's municipalities. At the same time, we are developing our next product, which will gradually complement and further develop our current offering.
About the roleAs a Product Designer at Prorenata, you play a central role in how our products look, feel, and function. You work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that design decisions are well-founded, accessible, and aligned with both user needs and technical requirements.
A key part of the role is to develop and take ownership of our design system, which is still in its early stages. You will help establish patterns, principles, and components that can scale over time – both technically and organizationally.
You will work on both our established, mission-critical product and our upcoming product, contributing to:
the further development and refinement of our existing product, Prorenata Journal, as well as
the design of new functionality, new concepts, and design patterns in our next product, with a long-term perspective on maintenance and context.
As the organization's only dedicated designer, you are responsible for both maintaining and further developing design files (Figma) and documentation so that they remain updated, relevant, and accessible. In addition, the role encompasses both tactical and strategic design work, from concrete UX/UI decisions in ongoing development to more forward-looking discussions about future products and overall design direction.
Your responsibilities include:Owning, maintaining, and further developing Prorenata's design system, including keeping Figma files and articles updated.
Supporting developers in UX and UI decisions throughout the development process.
Contributing to product exploration and product development, including developing change proposals and project descriptions.
Participating in strategic discussions about design in upcoming products and larger initiatives.
Ensuring a consistent, accessible, and high-quality user experience across our products.
Has solid experience working with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar.
Has strong skills in UX and UI and enjoys working closely with developers and product owners.
Is comfortable in a lead-leaning role, where you set direction and make design decisions without formal personnel responsibility.
Has good knowledge of accessibility requirements, particularly in the public sector.
Communicates fluently in English (our working language).
Speaks and writes Swedish fluently, as our products are entirely in Swedish.
Experience with products in regulated areas such as healthcare, finance, or the public sector.
Worked with accessibility standards like WCAG.
Experience building, scaling, and maintaining a design system over time.
Familiarity with working on long-lived products where further development is more important than greenfield design.
A workplace that encourages both professional and personal development.
A warm and collaborative culture with genuinely engaged and nice colleagues; we enjoy working with kind people.
A hybrid setup with three days a week in the office for collaboration and culture, and the ability to work from home the remaining days.
The opportunity to work on products that make a real difference for their users.
Competitive salary and generous benefits, including 6 weeks of vacation, pension according to ITP1, bike benefits, joint training at the office (completely voluntary, of course), and more.
The position is a permanent full-time employment, starting with a 6-month probation period.
Submit your application via the link below – we look forward to hearing from you. Selection is ongoing.
