Preparedness Coordinator at the Swedish Migration Agency

At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. In total, we are about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

Do you want to contribute to strengthening security and preparedness in one of Sweden's most socially important authorities? At the Security Department of the Swedish Migration Agency, you will play a central role in driving and coordinating the work with preparedness and civil defense close to the operational activities.

The Security Department of the Swedish Migration Agency is part of the headquarters and has the overall responsibility for security and preparedness within the authority. The department employs experts in information security, physical security, personnel security, crisis preparedness, civil defense, internal investigations, employee protection, and other security issues across the entire spectrum from operational protection to security protection.

We are now looking for a Preparedness Coordinator. You will work closely with experts in civil preparedness and security as well as security coordinators.

Main Responsibilities

As a Preparedness Coordinator, you will work with issues related to the Swedish Migration Agency's civil preparedness efforts. You will work directly with a region or a department and are expected to support and participate in planning and implementation in working groups and projects. You will primarily work in areas related to continuity management, war organization, risk and vulnerability analysis, as well as training and exercises. The work may involve processing referrals, both internal and external. You will work in a group, and collaboration with other authorities and organizations may be relevant.

Personal Competencies

We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills, who easily builds relationships and relates to others in a responsive and smooth manner. You build networks and maintain relationships. Furthermore, you work in a structured way and take independent responsibility for your tasks. You have the courage to take your own initiatives and act according to your own convictions within the framework of decisions made, operational plans, and goals. You are also an excellent representative for the Security Department in both internal and external contexts and can build good relationships both within and outside the authority.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A university degree focused on security, risk, and crisis management or other education combined with relevant experience for the position.
  • Knowledge of existing legislation in the area of crisis preparedness and total defense.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Swedish citizenship.

Merits

  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with projects, preferably in the area of crisis preparedness and total defense.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in planning and conducting exercises and training.
  • Experience in handling security and crisis preparedness issues.
  • Knowledge of security protection legislation.
  • Experience working in public administration.

Information

Employment type: permanent with an initial 6-month probationary period. Working hours: office hours or flexible working hours. On-call duty may be relevant. We apply individual salary setting within a salary range of approximately 50,000-57,000 SEK. Location: Sundbyberg. The job involves travel throughout the country. Start date: by agreement. A security clearance with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted. Based on this, there is a requirement for Swedish citizenship. Employment is contingent upon a successful security clearance.
