Care Responsible Specialist Nurse (OVA) for Children's Surgery Departments
We are looking for a Care Responsible Specialist Nurse (OVA) for the children's surgery departments in Solna and Huddinge, as well as the children's recovery unit in Solna.
As a key person in strategic care at Karolinska University Hospital, you will combine the role of OVA with research and clinical anchoring, becoming an important part of the BarnPMI function!

About the position
The BarnPMI function is one of the few specialized services for anesthesia, surgery, and intensive care for children in Sweden, tasked with conducting research, teaching, and healthcare at a high international level.
BarnPMI primarily provides highly specialized care, and both trained and further-educated staff work with us. BarnPMI consists of two medical units: the Unit for Perioperative Medicine and the Unit for Intensive Care, ECMO, and Transport, where we also receive a large number of out-of-region and international patients.
Your responsibilities include:
- promoting good and safe care within the organization
- identifying new knowledge and ensuring its implementation within the organization
- assisting the unit manager in securing high-quality care for the patient groups
- creating conditions for competence development, further education, and deepening
- preparing opportunities for Research, Education, and Development (FoUUI).
We are looking for someone who
- is a driven and responsible person with a holistic perspective and a strong ability to enhance interprofessional teamwork
- actively shares knowledge and experience in implementation work in an inspiring way
- has excellent communication skills in both spoken and written form
- has an open and solution-oriented approach, seeing opportunities in changes and can prioritize and focus on your work even under rapidly changing circumstances
- is curious, takes initiative, and finds it exciting to be involved in development and influence.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Specialist nurse in the relevant specialty
- Master's degree
Meritorious:
- Doctorate
- Clinical experience in the specialty
- Teaching and/or mentoring qualifications

Function Barn PMI
Children's Perioperative Medicine and Intensive Care provides healthcare at a high international level. We are responsible for transporting critically ill patients and care in BIVA/ECMO.
