About the position

As a psychologist, you will primarily work with psychological treatment both individually and in groups. You will also provide individual advice and support to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health issues at an early stage, such as anxiety, depression, stress, and psychosomatic conditions. Your tasks include making qualified assessments and further work with relevant treatment interventions, largely consisting of psychological treatment.

In your work, together with our interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate with other child and youth services within the region and municipality. Continuous supervision in assessment and psychological treatment is included in the work, as well as close collaboration within your own team.

Who are we?

Youth Mental Health started in Halland on April 1, 2021. Our mission is to provide accessible, patient-safe, effective, and equitable care for children and young people from preschool age up to 17 years with mild to moderate mental health issues.

We also work to support parenting and to detect, prevent, and treat mental and social health issues early. Our work is based on the perspective of the child and youth. The operation should be characterized by good treatment, competence, a holistic view, development, safety, collaboration, and participation. By working from a holistic perspective of the child's entire everyday life, we can make a significant difference with targeted interventions through, for example, conversation therapy and parental support. Our team consists of psychologists, social workers/counselors, nurses, doctors, and administrative assistants. We work together and are all eager to develop the operation from a regional perspective. An important part of our work is collaboration with schools and social services.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. You possess good knowledge of children and young people's mental health. We prefer that you have experience in providing support and treatment to children and young people with mental health issues. Furthermore, basic psychiatric competence in CBT is an advantage, as is prior experience in group therapy. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required.

To thrive in this job, you should have a good ability to structure, plan, and focus on your work independently. You have a strong interest in working with children, young people, and their families. As a person, you are calm and have a good ability to listen and communicate, as well as being good at understanding someone else's perspective or situation. We also appreciate innovative thinking in work-related matters. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
