Do you want to work supporting people who are dependent on opioids? We help patients who cannot stop using opioids by offering medication-assisted treatment.

This means that patients receive medication that alleviates the withdrawal symptoms that occur when they do not take opioids. The treatment helps on the path to a drug-free life.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse, you will work in a team and meet patients daily for maintenance medication combined with supportive conversations. The following tasks are included in the assignment:

• Sample collection and medication administration
• Monitoring the effectiveness of treatment
• Long-term work to establish a trusting, safe, and motivating relationship with patients.
• Be part of a smaller team working around the patient
• Contribute to a good overall solution for our patients, where you are also expected to participate in some social planning to give the patient optimal conditions.

About the Workplace

The Laro clinic is a clinic within Adult Psychiatry where we meet and treat people with opioid dependence. The treatment is recommended by the National Board of Health and Welfare and is continuously developed, among other things, by new types of medications entering the market. We work with motivation among patients, and the patient group varies from pure success stories to cases requiring continued intensive work.

Laro is located in two places in Halland, Halmstad and Varberg. In Halmstad, there are currently three nurses working and it is the slightly larger unit of the two, and the clinic we intend to expand with this advertisement. In Varberg, two nurses work.

The operation is mainly conducted as a clinic with opening hours Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM. Since patients in some cases need medication even on weekends, as well as in adjacent psychiatric care wards, weekend shifts will occur scheduled during the summer, but during the spring, work will primarily be scheduled Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse. A specialist education in psychiatry is desirable but not required. Previous experience as a nurse in psychiatric inpatient care is an advantage.

As a person, you are structured in your work approach and have developed organizational and collaborative skills. You are engaged and have a genuine interest in people with the patient in focus. You work flexibly. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
