About the position
As part of Medical Technology (MT), you contribute to ensuring that Karolinska University Hospital’s healthcare operations have access to safe, modern, and appropriate medical technology equipment. The department is responsible for service, maintenance, and management of equipment and participates in planning future investments and technology development.
Within MT Lab and Primary Care, you will work with a broad and varied range of equipment used by Karolinska's laboratory operations, from simpler analytical equipment to advanced, fully automated systems. The work also includes equipment located outside the hospital areas, such as blood centers and health centers.
The role involves close collaboration with healthcare operations and provides the opportunity to contribute to the development, innovation, and implementation of new technology within specialized and highly specialized healthcare.
Tasks included in the role include:
- ensuring that the operational needs for medical technology are clarified and met within your area of responsibility
- driving/leaving the investment process for purchasing equipment related to new investments, supplements, and replacement of equipment to achieve cost-effectiveness
- independently developing strategies in the form of action plans, development plans, and priorities so that Karolinska can maximize healthcare quality in a cost-effective manner
- managing equipment and service agreements. Representing Karolinska in matters with suppliers regarding lifecycle management such as contract negotiations, deviations, development, and changes
- participating and assisting in procurements regarding specifications and evaluation of suppliers' bids
- closely collaborating with various lab and healthcare operations, purchasing, property, and IT
- ensuring that all management activities are in line with the region's category management work.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Academic degree in engineering, laboratory, or another area deemed relevant by the employer
- Experience working with laboratory equipment, and/or working at the intersection of technology/lab
- Experience in project management or another coordinating/leading role
- Excellent communication skills, Swedish and English in spoken and written form
Meritorious:
- Experience leading other people
- Experience working with/leading IT installations
- Experience working with hospital-wide systems
- Experience managing MT equipment
- Experience in financial follow-up and planning
- Experience negotiating from the customer and/or supplier side
- Experience working closely with laboratory operations
- Experience working in relevant IT systems such as Medusa, Tableau, Excel.
