The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. With us at SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM-hem Östfora in Järlåsa, northwest of Uppsala, receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse, in combination with mental health issues. We have special expertise in medical care and are tasked with providing care for clients with specific care needs.

The permanent position as a nurse suits you who see a positive challenge in caring for people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. A workday with us includes everything from supportive conversations to acute interventions - always with the clients' best interests in focus.

As a nurse, you have medical responsibility for the clients. You are also the patient-responsible nurse and work closely with your colleagues, both nurses and other treatment staff. You also collaborate with social services and other care providers. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need.

Documentation is also an important part of your work, and you document according to HSL and SOL. We use the journal systems TakeCare and KAJ.

Working Hours:

Working hours are according to schedule - day, evening, and every third weekend. The permanent position is full-time. In some shifts, you work alone in the role of nurse together with the rest of the treatment team.

Introduction:

As a new employee, you will undergo an introductory training that combines theory with practice. The training prepares you for your new role in SiS operations. Some parts of the training take place at a boarding school (Stockholm/Göteborg). A prerequisite for employment is that you can participate in the introductory training. As a nurse, you will complete module 1 (three days at the boarding school) and module 3 (three non-consecutive weeks at the boarding school).

Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse and have experience working as such.

You should also have:

  • Documented experience of working as a nurse
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing.
  • Valid B driver's license.
  • Access to a car.

Experience in the following areas is an advantage:

  • Somatic and psychiatric nursing.
  • Substance abuse and addiction care.

Employment:
