Your tasks

You will work as an economist in the management and methodology unit. The unit is responsible for the authority's governance of operations, economic and methodological support, and provides support to the authority's management regarding external and internal governance. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in the unit, department, and the authority. The management and methodology unit consists of 12 employees, including the manager.

In the role of economist, you provide qualified support to the operations within the authority's ongoing economic work. The tasks include, among others:

• Preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial follow-ups in collaboration with the authority's economic controller.
• Ongoing economic administration, such as invoice management and payments.
• Providing support and guidance to managers and employees on financial matters, where collaboration within and outside the unit is a prerequisite for good results.
• Proactively working to develop and improve economic systems, routines, and processes.
• Cooperating with external actors and other authorities, such as the Swedish Agency for Government Employers and the National Audit Office.

Your profile

Qualifications

• A relevant academic degree for the position, preferably in the economic field, or equivalent that FBA assesses as comparable.
• Several years of relevant experience in economic work, such as economic administration, accounting, or invoice management.
• Good knowledge of the Office suite, primarily Excel.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Meritorious

• Experience of economic work centrally within an authority or other experience from public administration.
• Experience of working with annual reports and financial statements.
• Experience of working with Agresso, Insikt, or Visma.

FBA has a modern activity-based office in the premises of the Swedish Defence University at Drottning Kristinas väg 37 in Stockholm. Within the framework of the position, there is an opportunity to enter into an agreement to work up to 40% remotely and also the possibility to enter into an agreement for flexible working hours.

You will be employed as an economist. The position is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period and with a start date according to agreement. The position may be security classified.

About us

The Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) is the authority for peace, security, and development.

FBA works with international peace operations and development cooperation. The authority conducts training, research, and methodology development to support peace and state-building in conflict and post-conflict countries. We also contribute civilian personnel and expertise to peace and election observation missions led by the EU, UN, and OSCE. The authority is named after Folke Bernadotte, the first mediator of the UN.
