Welcome to Bergs Municipality - Municipality of the Year 2024!
Two-thirds of our population live outside our urban areas, and we do not see the municipality's sparsity as a hindrance but as an opportunity! Here, you can find magnificent nature nearby, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and an active cultural and community life. For those who want the city's offerings and communications, Östersund is just a stone's throw away. The South Sámi culture, reindeer husbandry, and language are an important part of the municipality's identity.
As an employer, all municipal operations rest on our five guiding principles: togetherness, courage, effectiveness, communication, and sustainability. Our guiding principles are designed to be our compass and guidance, always promoting trust and a good organizational culture with the citizen in focus.
At bergsliv.se, we have gathered inspiring reports about people living in the municipality and facts about our urban areas. Welcome to find your dream life with us in Bergs Municipality!
We accept your job application digitally via our recruitment system. If you have protected personal information, do not send your application through the recruitment system. Instead, contact the HR consultant via switchboard 0687-161 00, and you will receive assistance on how to apply for a job safely. We do not wish to be contacted by staffing and recruitment companies or sellers of job advertisements.
Functional Support in Bergs Municipality
Functional support in Bergs Municipality consists of several group homes, personal assistance groups, daily activities, short-term accommodation, housing support, escort services, and contact persons. We provide support and services according to LSS/SOL to individuals of varying ages and with varying needs. The purpose of LSS/SOL is to enable people with disabilities to live as good and independent a life as possible, and as staff, we support what is needed to achieve this based on the individual's needs.
Job Responsibilities
Your tasks as a support assistant/personal assistant/housing supporter may vary depending on the workplace you work at, but typically include care and personal hygiene, preparation for or support during meals, as well as cultural and leisure activities inside and outside the home. Social documentation is also included, as well as, in some cases, delegated tasks from licensed health and medical personnel.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people. You plan your work together with the person you support, and you understand how important it is for each individual to be involved and have influence over their daily life. Your contribution is needed during the period of June-August, whether you are interested in full-time or part-time work, and at one of the following locations:
- Svenstavik
- Åsarna
Working hours range from daytime to shifts with sleeping on-call, awake nights, and evenings/weekends depending on where you work.
Qualifications
We prefer that you have education in care and nursing or children and leisure, have previous experience with low-arousal approaches, clear pedagogical methods, AAC and/or ESL, but even if you are in training or have experience working within LSS, you are welcome to apply. Your Swedish is good in both spoken and written form, as it is necessary to communicate with many of our residents. In most of our operations, a driver's license for a car (B-license) is a requirement. Documentation is an important part of the work, so you need to have good computer skills and be able to express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing, as well as have good reading comprehension. During the interview part of the recruitment process, we use a quality assurance tool to ensure that all our employees meet the legal requirements regarding documentation. Bergs Municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality, and we consider it advantageous if you have knowledge of the South Sámi language and culture. To start working in some of our operations, we require you to show an extract from the Police's criminal record.
Personal Qualities
As a person, you need to be responsible, patient, positive, attentive, and have good initiative. We place great importance on personal suitability based on these qualities, as well as the specific operation you are interested in working within.
We Offer
Working in Bergs Municipality means that you become part of an organization in constant development and forward movement! Our employees are our most important resource, and we value you for your unique skills and experience. As a summer substitute, we offer you, in addition to wonderful colleagues and a rewarding job, a summer bonus of 10,000 SEK (before tax), provided that you work at least 75% for a minimum of 8 weeks during the applicable summer period.
We will call for interviews on an ongoing basis, so do not wait too long to send your application. Our need mainly extends during the months of June-August.
