Specialist Nurse in Highly Specialized ENT Care

About the position
We investigate and treat patients of all ages with malignant and benign conditions in the nose, sinuses, mouth, and throat, with a special focus on tumor surgery within ENT.
As a specialist nurse with us, you will become part of a hub for advice and support to colleagues and patients regarding airway care. You will also participate in improvement work, the development of guidelines, and the training that the tracheostomy nurse group holds.
Your duties also include working as a clinic nurse with regular clinic tasks such as:
- information about care plans and upcoming steps in treatment
- registration before surgery
- assisting in outpatient procedures and clinic visits
- supporting patients and relatives during crisis reactions
- telephone advice via TeleQ and Always Open and coordination with other professionals.
We document in the Take Care journal system.
You will be part of a well-functioning team with clinic nurses, contact nurses, surgical planners, doctors, nursing assistants, and tracheostomy nurses. The work environment is characterized by collaboration, high patient safety, learning, and a solution-oriented climate with varied tasks and pace. We are looking for you who
- are confident in your professional role, engaged, and have the patient in focus
- are responsible, solution-oriented, and have good collaboration skills
- communicate clearly, listen, and maintain a realistic perspective
- are flexible, independent, and enjoy both teamwork and development projects
- have a pedagogical and coaching approach. You are confident in conducting both individual reviews and group training (self-care, maintenance, safety, alarm, and action plans) and adapt content according to the recipient's needs.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Licensed nurse with specialist training in oncology, intensive care, surgical nursing, or emergency care
- At least 5 years of experience in acute care, surgical care, and/or cancer care
- Supervisory training 7.5 credits
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
- Experience in ear, nose, and throat care
- Experience with tracheostomized/laryngectomized patients
- Clinic work and telephone advice (TeleQ)
