Are you a district nurse or nurse interested in working daytime, weekdays with attractive working conditions? Then you might be the one we want to meet!

Östersund Municipality is now looking for a nurse or district nurse for the Frösön home care area. The area includes the municipal home care teams in Valla, Mjälle, Frösödal, and Orrviken, as well as citizens who have private home care. You will primarily work with the municipal home care and be the patient-responsible nurse for a number of citizens.

We are located at Lövstavägen 1 in Frösön, where you will have your office in the same corridor as the unit manager, your district nurse colleagues, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, which facilitates good teamwork. It is a cheerful, open, and collaborative work group.

There are good opportunities for professional development in the role as we organize professional development meetings about twice a semester. During these, you will receive further education on current topics and meet colleagues for professional exchange.

Your New Job

Our goal is to provide safe and secure care to our citizens who have support from home care. The position requires that you are confident in your professional role and self-sufficient. There are good opportunities for collegial support as the group has joint morning meetings daily and communicates by phone throughout the day when consultation is needed.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to participate in the municipality's development work regarding routines, collaborations with the region, and with the medically responsible nurse.

The position is permanent and full-time. Working hours are from 08:00 to 17:00, and weekend work may be required (currently, your future colleagues work every 10th weekend).

Recruitment will take place continuously, so please submit your application as soon as you can.

Common Tasks

As a district nurse, you plan, lead, and perform the work with home care together with the teams in home care and in collaboration with health centers and specialist care. You will perform standard district nurse tasks, where common tasks include wound care and palliative care. You play an important role in educating and supervising basic staff and relatives. It is also your task to assess the basic staff's knowledge and provide delegations so that staff can administer medication correctly.

In Östersund Municipality, we work according to a health-promoting and rehabilitative approach. A preventive measure that all citizens can participate in is that we organize health meetings at the municipality's meeting places.
