Consultant Psychiatrist for Adult Psychiatry in Östersund

We are looking for a consultant psychiatrist to join our medical team in adult psychiatry in Östersund.

We seek someone who, like us, has a genuine interest in psychiatry and psychiatric care. The positions mainly involve work in outpatient care. You have the opportunity to choose a focus on neuropsychiatry, affective disorders, eating disorders, or psychosis.

Within the psychiatric clinic in Östersund, all specialist care is housed under one roof, which allows for close collaboration within and between professions and internal mobility with opportunities for personal development for you as an employee.

The psychiatry area includes both outpatient and inpatient care and assists patients in Jämtland County in need of specialist psychiatry. In total, the area has about 270 employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

It is important for us that you, as an applicant, have a strong interest in clinical patient work combined with ongoing development work, where patient safety is a priority. Within the clinic, we have good collegial cooperation and prioritize a professional approach.

Supervision of students, residents, and specialty trainees is a natural part of the work. Systematic consultation work with our internal and external care neighbors is under constant development. The clinic is continuously implementing digitalization of tasks in everyday work, and with your help and that of your colleagues, this digital development will create opportunities for employees, the organization, and our patients.

As a person, you are expected to demonstrate good qualities in being able to take responsibility for ongoing organizational development and lead projects and continuous improvement efforts alongside structured clinical work.

You will naturally be part of the psychiatry on-call line, with the extent adjustable according to the needs of the organization and your own preferences.

QUALIFICATIONS

Documented specialist training in psychiatry.

We place great importance on personal suitability, especially the ability to collaborate, communicate, and a willingness to develop.

Documented teaching and supervision experience, including approved specialty training supervision.

You should be able to work as an independent on-call physician, which also entails medical leadership responsibility during on-call hours. Supervision as a newly hired employee is, of course, included.

Having a doctorate with active research in a relevant field is an advantage.
