Why should you do your AT in Jämtland Härjedalen?
Here you can wonderfully combine a well-thought-out AT education with a versatile social life. You will join an AT group with influence on the educational content and a lot of community even outside of work.
The center for care in Region Jämtland Härjedalen is located at the hospital in Östersund. Jämtland County is large in area but sparsely populated. This means that the hospital is relatively small in terms of the number of employees but large in terms of specialized competence. Here, the good qualities of a smaller hospital are combined with the versatility of a larger hospital. This means that you as an AT doctor will take care of all kinds of patients. The hospital is centrally located, within walking or cycling distance for those who choose to live in the city.
The often large distances require a well-developed primary care system with health centers around the county. With up to 30 miles to the hospital, it is not always sustainable to send the patient on to the hospital.
So, in answer to the question in the title:
We believe that you would thrive in Region Jämtland Härjedalen and get a great start to your medical career with many opportunities for a superb leisure time regardless of your interests. You will receive a broad education and quickly become part of the workgroup at your clinical placement, with an AT supervisor following you throughout your training.

ABOUT YOU:
In our selection, we make a comprehensive assessment of formal merits, personal profile, interview, and references. We consider it an advantage if you have had a position as a junior doctor. A junior doctor position or student placements within our region can be advantageous but is absolutely not a requirement.
We are looking for someone who is stable and secure in themselves. You dare/have the ability to make your own decisions based on the information you have (even under time pressure) while understanding when you need to ask or seek help. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. But you can also re-prioritize in rapidly changing circumstances. You have both the competence and understanding to work in a patient-safe manner. We also value your ability to collaborate, both interprofessionally within different teams and in close cooperation with the patient, which is an important part of the AT doctor’s role in our region.
INTERVIEW:
Interview days are March 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and possibly 16. NOTE: If you are offered an interview, you will receive a digital invitation after the application deadline, where you can book an interview time that suits you. Check your spam folder to ensure the invitation hasn’t ended up there.
SYLF may invite you to a digital information meeting during week 10 if you are offered an interview.
As an employee, you have access to a training facility/gym at the hospital. Our staff association offers many wonderful activities.
When you are offered an AT position, you have the opportunity to apply for housing through Landstingsbostäder.
AT performances are set up every year by the AT doctors.
Our goal is to recruit doctors from a long-term competence supply perspective, i.e., that the region will manage its specialist doctor supply in the future.
REGARDING YOUR APPLICATION:
We expect you to fill in all the information in the application form as the information there is used to make a comparable initial assessment of all applicants (i.e., do not attach CV and cover letter just as attachments). We want you to motivate why you are applying for AT in Region Jämtland Härjedalen.
We request contact information (phone and email) for at least two references, preferably an experienced doctor you have worked with who knows how you function in clinical service plus your current/most recent supervisor. The references should be contacted and available for phone calls or digital reference checks during weeks 12 and 13.
Attach a copy of your degree certificate or LADOK extract up to T10 (if you are currently in your last term) and relevant employment certificates from healthcare-related positions. As we read applications continuously, we would like you to submit your application in good time - you can then complete/update it until the last application day.
Before any employment as an AT doctor, we may ask you to present an extract from the police records.
In the case of a large number of applicants, a medical degree at the time of application is advantageous - but of course, we read and consider all applications.
We have an established method for recruitment and kindly but firmly decline contact with ad sellers or other sellers of recruitment services.
