Specialist in General Medicine at Region Jämtland Härjedalen
Do you want to be part of Region Jämtland Härjedalen – a region to long for and grow in? With us, you contribute to development and growth throughout the county and work to provide the best possible service, care, and support for everyone living in or visiting the region.
We offer a work environment characterized by collaboration, participation, and commitment, where both breadth and specialized competence are utilized. Here, you have the opportunity to develop in your role, whether you are new to the profession or have extensive experience.
The primary care within Region Jämtland Härjedalen is organized into 4 local care areas, and since January 2022, primary care and ambulance services have been integrated under good and close care. Each local care area is an economic unit led by a manager. Primary care is also responsible for the region's medical advice, youth reception, and the local care department Näva, all of which are grant-funded. Within the primary care area, there is a good research climate and it has the status of a university hospital unit. Our R&D unit can provide support and scientific guidance together with Umeå University.
At Odensala health center, we have reduced the number of patients per doctor. We continue to develop our working methods towards Close Care and see reduced patient lists as part of that work. Our norm for a medical area with full-time district doctors is 1250 patients, with deductions for any side assignments and part-time work. The focus on Close Care and specifically Extended Primary Care means that new working methods are being developed, and we have divided the health center into four care teams where we actively work with increased focus on our most needy patients. Come and be a part of this work with us!
Our health center is a pleasant workplace just south of the city, with a staff group of about 65 employees. The number of listed patients is approximately 12,000. We utilize each other's competencies and create good conditions for the patient. Here, district doctors, district nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries work together. We also have BVC/MVC staffed with pediatric nurses and midwives. The health center also has a psychosocial reception with several psychologists. Additionally, we have a rehabilitation coordinator who works in the team around the sick leave process. The health center has two committed unit managers with shared leadership.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with us as a specialist in general medicine involves regular outpatient work, home visits, and, if necessary, digital visits. There is also the opportunity for side assignments and supervision of training doctors. As previously mentioned, our norm for the size of the medical area is 1250 patients at full-time, and this is reduced for part-time work and side assignments. You have the opportunity to adjust your schedule according to your own preferences regarding, among other things, administrative time and where your planned patients should be booked. The main work takes place on-site at the health center, but remote work is possible to a limited extent.
We have a doctor's meeting for one hour per week (with internal training and collegial discussion) and one hour set aside for business development or meetings with other professional categories, as well as regular training in the form of training days five days a year. These days contribute to creating a strong general medical community in the region. In addition, you are offered a place in an FQ group for training and reflection in a group five days a year. Occasional on-call shifts are included in the work. The Primary Care area has the status of a university hospital unit, and teaching, supervision, and training of medical students at Umeå University are part of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a specialist in general medicine. Independent research and research supervision are meritorious but not a formal requirement for the position.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
