The Stockholm City police area is Stockholm's busiest police area, where over a million people move every day. The Stockholm City police area is divided into three local police areas: Northern Inner City, Lidingö-Kungsholmen, and Södermalm.

Within the Northern Inner City local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service. The local police area is new since the beginning of the year and is facing many exciting changes ahead.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for someone who wants to be a group leader within the Support/Service operations, responsible for planning, growth and staffing issues, as well as training matters. We are on a journey of development and change where we focus on the problem and work proactively and solution-oriented. As a leader, you will contribute to future work where we see new opportunities to achieve a more operational effect in our local area. In this role, you will be able to influence and develop as a leader and manager, as well as help develop the entire local police area.

The Role of Group Leader for Support/Service

As the head of Support/Service, you report to the local police area chief and the deputy local police area chief and are part of the local police area's management team, where you collectively are responsible for ensuring that assignments are carried out and for driving the authority's change and development work. You have particular responsibility for the group's activities in the area of Support/Service and its results. As a group leader, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.

Being a leader within the Police Authority means creating safety and building trust by exercising sincere, courageous, and attentive leadership with trust in others' competence and ability. As a leader, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that is based on following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for citizens and the mission as a whole.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • at least 6 months of continuous experience working as a manager, team leader, project leader, or similar role
  • experience participating in change and development work
  • experience in the relevant operational area, such as management assignments, planning, training, and growth issues
  • Police degree in accordance with the Police Ordinance (2014:1104) or other relevant post-secondary education for the function or equivalent work experience deemed significant by the employer

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

  • experience leading others towards set goals and results
  • participated in management forums
  • experience of the police organization's operations, particularly police area assignments
  • leadership training for direct, indirect, and/or strategic levels
  • experience participating in/driving collaboration with community actors outside the police organization/your own organization
