Lawyer in Security Protection

As a lawyer in security protection, you will work with issues that are crucial for both Sweden's security and the trust in essential societal operations. In this role, you will have a particular focus on personnel security and contribute to ensuring that the right competence, protection, and processes are in place. We are now looking for someone who wants to take an active responsibility in an area that is becoming increasingly important for society.

We work with what everyone takes for granted. The ability to communicate. With us, you will ensure that it works now and in the future. For everyone.

About the Unit

The Security Protection Unit works to secure and protect Sweden's security, both within the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority's own operations and with actors in electronic communication. Security protection is an area of increasing importance in society, and electronic communication is central to the functioning of society – while the area is characterized by rapid development and change.

We are an experienced and committed team with both legal and technical expertise, which gives us good conditions to handle both operational and strategic issues. Here, there is a non-prestigious work climate where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and legal certainty are in focus, and where you will have the opportunity to influence both work methods and results.

I, Henrik Christiansson, lead the unit. As a manager, I am trustworthy and believe in open collaboration without prestige. I work to create a safe and inclusive work environment where we work towards common goals, while you have the space to take responsibility and grow in your role.

About the Role

As a lawyer in security protection, you will have a central and varied role where you contribute to ensuring high legal quality in PTS's work. You will work on applying and developing regulations within the security protection area, with a particular focus on coordination regarding personnel security, and contribute to ensuring that the authority's operations are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation.

In your daily work, you may lead or participate in supervisory matters, prepare decisions, and quality assure materials that may be reviewed by external parties and, in some cases, tested legally. You will also work with legal investigations, government assignments, and consultations, as well as develop regulations, internal governing documents, and working methods.

The role also includes advising, training initiatives, and collaboration, both internally and externally. You will have many points of contact and collaborate closely with colleagues within PTS as well as with other authorities, operators, and organizations, and may represent PTS in national and international contexts. The position involves a combination of strategic work and practical application, where your contribution makes a concrete difference.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and has a good understanding of the requirements placed on public authority operations. You are collaborative and have a non-prestigious approach, which makes you thrive in working together with others and contributing where needed. You work in a structured manner and have a good ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver high quality, even when multiple issues are ongoing simultaneously. You are solution-oriented and have a pragmatic approach, with the ability to make well-balanced decisions. The role also requires high integrity, accuracy, and the ability to act steadily even in situations that may be complex or pressured. Your personal qualities are important, and therefore we will place great emphasis on these.

We are looking for you who have:

  • Law degree or equivalent (e.g., LL.B.)
  • Several years of experience in what PTS considers qualified legal work
  • Current work experience in personnel security
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish

It is also an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in public authority operations
  • Experience from the telecom sector or digital services
  • Experience in security assessments and register control management

Our Offer

We take life seriously. With us, you can have a life both at and outside of work. If you feel good, we feel good. Therefore, we offer competitive salaries, flexible working hours, and the opportunity for remote work. We also have generous wellness benefits and two wellness hours each week.

Additionally, you will receive favorable conditions for lunch, vacation, parental leave, pension, and in case of illness. Here, you will work in modern activity-based premises at Hälsingegatan 38. As a government authority, we offer a safe and stable work environment where you can feel secure. We are creating tomorrow's society and must stay at the forefront. With us, you will continuously grow with your tasks.
