Temporary Speech Therapist Wanted for Primary Care in Sala

Exciting things are happening in Sala! In the autumn of 2022, we moved to a brand new hospital, just a three-minute walk from Sala train station. In addition to the obvious advantages of a new and modern workplace, we can offer the sense of closeness that a smaller hospital provides.

About the Workplace

Our clinic, Primary Care East, operates in both Sala and Västerås. In Sala, we provide primary care in a small format by meeting the residents' needs for basic internal medicine specialist care, palliative care, and qualified rehabilitation efforts. We have a care department, a medicine clinic, an advanced home care team (AH-team), a primary care team (NVT), and a rehabilitation unit - the Rehabilitation Unit.

In Västerås, we have a primary care department (NÄVA), a palliative department, an AH-team, a primary care team (NVT Västerås), a palliative clinic, and a palliative advisory team. We strive to work from a person-centered approach.

Organizationally, the position belongs to the Rehabilitation Unit in Sala, and you will primarily work in Sala but may also work at our units in Västerås, especially at NÄVA, as needed.

At the Rehabilitation Unit in Sala, outpatient care is provided through our physiotherapy, social worker, and speech therapy clinic, as well as team-based outpatient rehabilitation. We also staff the care department and advanced home care (AH) with rehabilitation resources.

We are looking for someone who wants to work with neurological rehabilitation of adults. The position is relatively newly established at our clinic, which means there is a great opportunity to participate in how speech therapy care will be shaped. There is also the possibility of receiving some professional support from colleagues in the Rehabilitation Unit of medicine in Västerås.

Job Responsibilities

As a speech therapist, you will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with acquired neurologically-based communication and swallowing difficulties. You will work independently and can significantly influence your work and your time. You will be part of various rehabilitation teams and will work in both inpatient and outpatient care.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed speech therapist, preferably with a few years of experience in healthcare. If you have knowledge/experience in neurological rehabilitation in outpatient clinics, departments, and/or home care, it is an advantage. If you have worked with or are interested in patients with various rehabilitation needs, medically complex patients, and in palliative care, this position is for you. We also value if you have an interest or experience in organizational development and digitalization. Furthermore, we expect you to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Great importance is placed on your personal qualities, such as the ability to collaborate, take responsibility, and prioritize and plan your work both independently and together with others. A driver's license is required as home visits may occur.

Employment Conditions

Temporary position for at least 6 months with the possibility of extension. Full-time, daytime Monday to Friday. Start date to be agreed upon.
