Job Responsibilities

At the Adult Psychiatric Outpatient Care in Fagersta, patients with needs for specialized psychiatric care that cannot be treated within primary care are treated. These are adult patients with conditions such as ADHD, anxiety and depression, and personality disorders.

You will conduct assessment interviews to map the patient's needs and functional level, and investigations to make the correct diagnosis and offer suitable treatment. We provide our patients with various forms of treatment where you, as a psychologist, are responsible for treatment, either in groups or individually. We also offer digital treatments at the clinic.

The work is varied, where you work independently and in collaboration with other professionals at the clinic. We also offer supervision in both investigation and treatment.

About the Workplace

In Region Västmanland, all adult psychiatry is gathered in one organization, which creates good conditions for a well-functioning care chain and good cooperation between different units. Adult Psychiatry Västmanland is divided into two sections: inpatient care and outpatient care. Inpatient care is located in Västerås and consists of five care departments and an emergency department. The Adult Psychiatric Clinics are organized under outpatient care, which, in addition to Västerås, also operates in Köping, Fagersta, and Sala.

The Adult Psychiatric Clinic in Fagersta serves patients with mental health issues requiring specialist care and residing in the municipalities of Fagersta, Norberg, Virsbo, or Skinnskatteberg. The clinic employs doctors, social workers, psychologists, PTP psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses, caregivers, and administrative staff, totaling around 20 engaged and knowledgeable employees. We are a well-functioning clinic characterized by openness, collaboration, and respect for each other's competencies.

Newly Qualified Psychologist

For those of you who are newly qualified psychologists, we offer a two-year competence package to provide you with a smoother transition between the role of PTP psychologist and licensed psychologist.

The competence package includes:

• Job-specific course
• Participation in a national/nordic congress
• Observation in primary care, habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, or forensic psychiatry (a total of five days)
• Opportunity to take a supervisor training course in year 2
• Personal follow-up by an experienced psychologist

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist. It is advantageous if you have experience in the profession, have worked with treatment and investigation work, and if you have experience in psychiatry. Good knowledge of the Swedish language and basic computer skills are required.

We seek a psychologist who is self-assured, can make decisions, prioritize, and make appropriate trade-offs. The role requires you to be attentive and able to plan and organize your work effectively, but also to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances. The work requires both the ability to work independently and together with others.

We psychologists at the clinic in Fagersta have different backgrounds and are trained in several methods - including CBT, PDT, ISTDP, and EMDR. We have different interests within psychology and among the tasks, and as much as possible, we try to ensure that passion and interest are part of how we distribute the work among us. We are very ready to welcome another colleague who can contribute with their personality, knowledge, and experience.
