Job Responsibilities

As a healthcare assistant, you will conduct home visits either independently or together with a nurse/doctor. Your work consists of visiting patients, coordinating and planning in schedules, as well as participating in digital rounds. You will also perform other tasks such as ordering laundry, restocking supplies, and overseeing common areas. We will eventually rotate tasks, and therefore the role may evolve over time.

About the Workplace

The Home Care Team and the AH Team have formed their own unit within the Medical Clinic in Köping/Fagersta. The teams consist of approximately 14 employees, with a few additional staff rotating between the teams and the care department. It is a close-knit team that works together and supports each other.

The Home Care Team in Köping provides specialized treatment in patients' homes and is a planned operation with doctors. We are here for patients who cannot access healthcare, and our mission is to create security at home and avoid hospital admissions. The service area includes Köping, Arboga, Kungsör, and Hallstahammar municipalities.

The AH Team (Advanced Home Care) provides advanced palliative care at home. The work includes symptom control, teamwork, relationship/communication, and support for relatives to alleviate physical, psychological, social, and existential suffering. This involves a strong focus on mutual interpersonal relationships, primarily with the patient but also with their relatives. We are here for patients in Köping, Arboga, and Kungsör.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a healthcare assistant with at least 3 years of experience in the profession. You have a certificate for a protected professional title and a B driver's license, as well as driving experience is required. Specialist training that is considered relevant for the position is an advantage. Since you need to communicate verbally and in writing with patients, relatives, and colleagues in this role, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required.

As a person, you are calm and secure in your professional role. You work in a structured manner and can plan both long-term and short-term as well as prioritize among your tasks. You are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. Since collaboration is an important part of the work, we see that you enjoy and have a good ability to work with others. Furthermore, you are empathetic and attentive in your interactions with both patients, relatives, and colleagues.

Work shifts will include days, evenings, and weekends.

Permanent employment, full-time. Day, evening, and weekend shifts.
