Hitachi Energy Cooling System has a global responsibility for the development and manufacturing of cooling systems for power electronics applications as well as other applications requiring high reliability and availability water cooling. You will be part of our electrical and automation group. As a project engineer at Hitachi Energy Cooling Systems, you will be responsible for electrical and automation aspects in assigned projects. You are responsible for ensuring that the project's technical deliveries and solutions within electrical automation are correct and delivered according to schedule and budget. In the role of project engineer, you will discuss specifications and requests with customers, and then drive design solutions in accordance with these. With the help of your colleagues, electrical designers, and automation engineers, you will establish electrical documentation for our delivery projects. You are an expert in your project and the solutions to be implemented according to the customer's specifications, and the work includes, among other things, designing control cabinet solutions, low voltage switchgear for motor control (MCC), and junction boxes.

The role includes a technical responsibility to maintain Hitachi's quality and follow applicable standards and specifications. You do not have personnel responsibility but have a responsibility for the electrical technical solution in your project and need to lead others in the delivery work and act as an internal project manager.

Since we have production in Landskrona and thus a responsibility towards the production staff, you can expect that the work will largely take place on-site in Landskrona, but some flexibility for remote work is available.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Manage assigned projects according to applicable work processes, work according to set time/delivery plans and budget.
  • Electrical design according to customer specifications, selection of components and solutions, review of documentation.
  • Electrical design of control cabinets, low voltage switchgear (MCC), and junction boxes. Normal voltages, power 208/400/480/690VAC and control 24-220VDC.
  • Establish and work according to applicable quality documentation, process maps, work instructions, functional descriptions, quick guides.
  • Create specifications for subcontractors, input articles and BOM lists into the business system (SAP).
  • Aftermarket support through troubleshooting and developing solutions as needed.
  • Participate in various component testing, factory tests, FAT, and supplier evaluations.
  • Commissioning for SAT as well as supplier visits and other travel may occur.

Your Background

  • Solid experience in electrical design and automation within relevant industries such as machine manufacturing, process industry, water, and wastewater treatment plants. A few years in project work with external delivery is an advantage.
  • You have a post-secondary education or a technical education and experience in a relevant profession and industry such as; industrial electrical designer, lead engineer, project engineer, technical project manager, or similar.
  • Experience in designing control cabinets and motor control groups and can design independently in Elprocad or other similar tools.
  • Experience with redundant solutions focusing on “High Availability,” such as S2, R1, and R2.
  • Good knowledge of 2006/42/EC, IEC61439, IEC61000-6-2 / IEC 6100-6-4, CE certification.
  • You have excellent skills in technical English in both spoken and written form.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of construction according to UL / CSA. Good knowledge of the Machinery Directive and practical experience in electrical cabinet construction (automation). Experience in programming or configuring PLC/DCS/RTU/IPC/HMI or other technical equipment is also an advantage.
