We are looking for you who want to work as a social worker in the area of economic assistance and employment for our reception unit.

We are taking advantage of the opportunities presented by the new Social Services Act and developing new working methods to increase our accessibility and meet the citizens in the Northern Inner City and Kungsholmen who need to contact social services and apply for economic assistance.

The Economic Assistance and Employment area is responsible for investigating the right to economic assistance for the two districts of Northern Inner City and Kungsholmen. The area consists of two units (a reception unit and an investigation unit) with a total of about 40 employees who work together with the client's needs in focus. As a colleague in the Reception Unit, you will be the first contact for economic assistance and employment, but also in many cases the first contact and pathway to receiving support from social services.

Your role

With us, you will work with social change and motivational work for individuals who, for various reasons, are without their own income. When a person contacts us, you need to have a good ability to quickly get a comprehensive picture of the person's social and economic situation to guide and support the person further.

In your role, you will meet, support, and motivate clients on their way to self-sufficiency and investigate and make decisions about the right to economic assistance. You will guide and direct the client and work closely with partners both within and outside social services to ensure that the client receives the support they need.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who have:

• A degree in social work
• Solid knowledge of current legislation
• A good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, as an important part of the job consists of documentation and communication.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in governmental authority, preferably in economic assistance
• Experience working in a reception function

You are structured and organize your work effectively. You are flexible in your work and act professionally. You are empathetic, relate to others in a responsive way, and enjoy collaborating with other professionals. You thrive in a team environment and are interested in participating in developing new working methods. You have a holistic view of your assignment and take into account the larger perspective.
