Job Advertisement: Researcher in Flight Signatures

The Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) is a government agency conducting world-leading research in defence and security to support Sweden's military and civil defence. The research spans several areas, such as underwater, cyber defence, space, electronic warfare, sensor systems, civil defence, CBRNe (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive materials), military platforms including weapons and protection, as well as security policy analyses. FOI's research plays a key role in building Sweden's defence capability.

About the Position

For future military aircraft platforms, the trade-off between signature and traditional flight performance becomes very important. At FOI, research and technology development is conducted in the field of flight signatures.

This position is for you who have experience in multiphysics and technical calculations within the signature area. In your work, you will use commercial software to perform signature calculations for our clients. You will develop, maintain, and distribute FOI's in-house developed calculation tools for radar signatures. The work is conducted independently in collaboration with other aviation-related activities at FOI.

About the Unit

FOI serves as a government, industry-independent expert resource for the Armed Forces, the Government Offices, and other authorities. You will be part of the Flight Technology unit, where we conduct well-founded analyses, formulate and study important issues and trends, foresee possible developments, and translate this into knowledge, tools, and capabilities that meet the needs of our clients today and in the future. The Flight Technology unit is part of the Defence Technology department. Please read more about what we do: Defence Technology.
